I didn't read Mirage stories because I was 2 years old when they came out and I didn't get much info on them when I got older because I live in the UK.

I grew up watching the 80s show and the original movies.

When I first got the internet in 2000, I did look up all the Mirage stories from that old tmnt site (which sadly doesn't exist anymore) and there were some of the stories that I was interested in and when the 2003 show came out, I was glad it was based on Mirage.

I would of liked to have got vol 1 and 2 of the Mirage comics but not the image vol 3 because it's non cannon and not Mirage vol 4 because what i've read about them doesn't appeal to me.

I do like IDW comics and i'm hoping there will be a show based on it in the future.

The rule isn't enforced because it's counterproductive to have rules against opinions. That and it's kind of hard to, you know, find an adult who thinks axing post-production is an acceptable form of corner cutting. The FW cartoon just isn't the type of thing most people would think holds up after 30+ years.

Judging by what keeps the peace around here, the rule against FW bashing should be removed and replaced with a rule against criticizing Mirage.

I liked the 80s series but not the red sky seasons. I didn't enjoy the red sky episodes.

Well to be fair, there's a lot less to criticise about Mirage. There are bad stories to be sure but they were never bad because someone demanded 47 issues per year or a writer pretended "X and Y Pizza is totally tubular, dudes" was funny enough to repeat over and over again.

More accuate for me is really tired of seeing it crop up. REALLY tired of it I'll quote a line here and there and I do like the references but much like Sonic and Green Hill Zone. It's not nostalgia if it's the norm.

Uh, grammar? Syntax? Forgotten words? I'm not sure what you're trying to say here.

It's tucked within there, sure.

or does it not count cause it's not bloody enough?
Why would that be an indicator of quality?

because if pizza references are a reference of quality for the fred wolf cartoon, something has to be for mirage. if it's not blood, maybe it's boob size...violence....beer burps per issue...

pointing out stereo types about one, it's only fair to point out stereo types about the other ..

except for PD Turtles and next mutation and the sing along videos.. i think we can all agree those just kind of flat out sucked .

It depends on who drew her. 'Cause you could end up with this:

As opposed to this:

Makes a world of difference, wouldn't you agree?

Though, I personally think IDW Renet is more attractive (especially when drawn by Sophie):
Spoiler:

She may not be as.....well endowed in comparison, but she more than makes up for it.

Soooooo am I breaking the rules by owning Fred Wolf DVDs and Mirage hardcover books? I feel like I missed the part where I have to pick a side.

Like, I'd absolutely love to have something like Daredevil on Netflix only with the Turtles in it.

However, I'd ALSO like to see the Jhonen Vasquez TMNT short become its own series.

i've always been fond of this version myself

although the idw version is rather nice. even if it does remind me of JLU supergirl a bit.
