That would get expensive fast but it would be amazing to get updates to all of the figures I had as a kid.

I just hope I can pick a line and stick with it. If I want to buy both... shoo.
Watch the pixel dan video. Brian Flynn confirmed that the Horsemen are out of the picture because Nickelodeon said they would turn this deal down if the Four Horsemen were involved.

such a damn shame playmates remained arrogant in their licensee position for so long, that they refused to evolve. as stated, they are still thinking this is 1988 and havn't changed much at all.

and when they do try stuff, they make it impossible to find and then claim it doesn't sell. sigh.

thankfully, nick released their stranglehold on stuff.

I thought Brian said Mattel, not the Horsemen. And I though he was talking about Masters movie stuff, not Turtles.

But maybe I missed something again.

Yeah, Brian said that since Mattel isn't doing MOTUC, Super7 managed to get the MOTU 1987 movie license since movie rights parties have some animosity against Mattel.

Here's the Thread about the Playmates exclusive by Kevin Eastman that was mentioned on the previous page in case anyone was wondering: http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?t=60835

The picture has indeed been deleted though.

Did you see Super7's Snake Mountain playlet? Sure would love to see them take a crack at the Technodrome...

I doubt Super7 would make a Technodrome, the price range would be too off-putting to be lucrative. Snake Mountain is going to be $600 and I doubt they'd do that one if it had not been for Mattel showing off a prototype before they stopped with the line.

So, the next waves have Hypno-Potamus, an army-builder pack for Meat Sweats, Big Mama, some kind of wildebeest guy, and Repo Mantis... but no good guy figures other than more variants.

Meanwhile NECA continues a stellar performance, along with Super7's mystery line. I also did NOT expect them to roll out R&S figures after what happened with John K over the course of these past two decades ESPECIALLY last year.

1. Oh, thank you.

2. Have you even SEEN John Kricfalusi's blog? It was basically a long filibuster about all animation getting worse and worse after the early 1960s, eventually including his own, and to the point that by 2010 he thought there was nothing good in animation. He also went on random tirades about things like shoes, Star Wars, and cereal boxes. Not to mention his creepy behavior towards his young animators...

if I can do it with 3D printing, why can't a toy company with millions of dollars at their disposal do it better?

Of course they CAN do it and better, but why would they? Playsets are costly, NECA isn't in the market to make items like that nor is Super7. It's taken them years to make Snake Mountain and there's no evidence that it will even turn out good (their figures have been so-so) and the cost is far too great.

Hell Super7 hasn't even made a single TMNT figure yet. So it's a bit early to be calling for a 6 inch scaled Technodrome... Which would have to be HUGE and still would be poorly scaled all things considered.

Yeah, playsets are dying out. It's a shame, but toy sales are generally down all over the place, and giant, expensive, living room-sized setpieces aren't what they used to be. Kids don't care like they used to, people don't have the space they used to, and parents don't want to justify a holiday's worth of gift spending on ONE toy.

Breaks my heart, but it is what it is. I think they're going to more or less be the "Deluxe, Collectors-Only" type of thing from now on. They'll look great but be prohibitively expensive for most people, as only "serious, hardcore" collectors will care enough to even pursue them.
