Awesome, I don't think I've seen any Donatello's come out of the set of 10 up until now. I wonder what the ratio is for who got who.

Heh, I was gonna add on "I bet "Raph" takes the lead with there being a few who opted for Mirage coloring" but I didn't. Shame on me. The thought of getting a non-red masked Laird turtle did kinda upset my sensibilities but I wanted it to be super-duper clear what turtle I got, personally. Now I'm tempted to get my Eastman Leo sketch painted by Steve in the same vein. Two color Leo's done by the daddies of TMNT. His work really pops. If I were a rich man I'd prolly get half of my collection colored by him.

Yeah, I don't think it was published since it was a gift. In fact I don't think it's seen the light of day until now. It had a BIN of $2,500 earlier today but it was quickly erased due to bidding. It reminds me of the style of the old Tales of the TMNT comics, volume 1. I was interested in the Fugitoid page but won't be bidding on this one, so good luck to you!

Thank you for the information. Funny, it was up to around $550 just awhile ago and I just checked again and it’s now down to $202.50 I think I’ll save my money for something that was published and exclusively by Kevin. What would a piece of art penciled by Ryan Brown and inked by Kevin Eastman be worth? Most
of the high dollar art I see is by Kevin alone. Or with Peter Laird. But chances of finding 1980’s Eastman and Laird art together is pretty impossible these days. They really didn’t do too much together when you actually think about it. |

It was not published. It was a gift from Kev and Ryan to Dan. It is the character Boogieman which was Dan's first published comic, but does not have the OA page in it. Without giving too much of the backstory, these pages are tainted IMHO. I had serious high bids on both of the pages but had them both retracted(that $550.00 on the Boogieman page and a high bid of $925 on the TMNT #5 page). After dealing with the seller privately and speaking to Dan as to the provenance, I've concluded the seller is a real A**Hole. Long story short: Dan had a box of OA/prints in OH at his father's. After his father passed, he forgot about the box since he was grieving. Seller's father found the box at a yard sale or something similar. Yes, it is one of those holy grail find situations because there were a bunch of pages including the two you see on eBay. Seller contacts Dan about the stuff. Dan realizes the box he thought was in storage was left in OH and purchased for micro pennies on the dollar. Dan gives the story to which seller starts to offer to return the pages. This isn't happening and basically the seller baited Dan to give full disclosure on the pages on the premise he would return the OA for cost or small profit. After a few rounds of pics from the seller with "what are these pages?" the seller basically became aware he had a gold mine and reneged on his offer to return the pages. Since then he has taken Dan's information and relisted the pages with ridiculous BIN's. This guy hosed Dan big time and it's not cool. I have plenty of text messages and ebay message from the seller. I'm not posting them , but when I stated I would be retracting my bids, you would've thought I started WWIII. The seller was very unprofessional in their verbiage and had the nerve to tell me Dan should've had the decency to clean out his father's house after his passing. Seriously not cool, and I urge anyone thinking of making bids to not. It's a huge principal thing with me about how things were handled. This is simply my 2 cents, but I'd really like to see the community not line the pockets of this jerk. Dan is one of the nicest people I've met in some time, he was nothing but cordial to the seller and extended a great courtesy without a reciprocal expectation. The seller took advantages of that and is now trying to get Kevin Eastman money for pages his dad paid pennies for... I don't normally air out this type of sh*t, but I really feel this is something the community needs to know about. I actually won the TMNT Tales V1#1 cover proof and am going to return it to Dan FOC... but that's just me

I say, when you get his address, lets go beat the guy up. That's really crappy though, wow. Not surprising, but nonetheless terrible. People are scum.

That person has no soul, he must be a ginger
But in all seriousness that guy is sick. To take advantage of such a nice guy in his situation is horrible. Unfortunately there are too many people in this world that care more about money than doing the right thing

Then, after some back and forth messages with the seller, I found out about the situation with Dan. Up until I just read your post, I thought maybe he relisted it with Dan's blessing, but now it's apparent that's not the case. Now I also will not bid on it, since the page is rightfully Dan's. I could never own the page knowing the current situation. Thanks for posting this. I was going to contact Dan for his side of the story, but I can see his stance from your post. On the bright side, I now have this money saved for an Eastman/Laird Mirage piece from the first 11 issues. Anyone selling anything? I might just have to get something from Eastman's site (I'll have to save a little more for that though). |

What a total A**H***!!! Seriously!
I concur with Sofistocat, Dan is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. I can't believe this guy pulled that **** with Dan. Seriously, if his father died, and essentially this guys making a profit off of it. Its not like its just old comics either that don't have sentimental value either. These are gifts from Peter, Kevin, Ryan, and probably the rest of the Mirage crew. Sucks |

Not to keep this SH** going, but the seller technically acquired them properly and legally. Dan has acknowledged that he should've confirmed he did have them in his possession, understandable and honest on his part.
It's what happened next that I have a problem with. Who's to say what Dan would've disclosed had the seller not offered to return them? Then to see both pages relisted with a total of $6K in BIN's is effing heinous. Though the pages were rightfully obtained, it's like stealing a kid's bike then selling it back to him for way more than they paid for it...
