Holy wow, Sofistocat! Amazing haul! Especially jealous of the Talbot stuff, I love his work.

Speaking of which, I got this a wee whiley back, can't remember if I ever posted it. it's by Eric, and I feel it has a certain Lovecraftian feel to it:

Hi, everyone. Long time, no see.

I bought this cel recently, as I had no idea what the story was on it. It was just too goofy to let go.

Does anyone know what episode this is from?

wow jan, those look great! that molenaar raph is the cream of the crop! the larsen raph and that casey sketch are pretty boss too.

the larsen head sketch/cover blank is pretty neat, but i can't believe he wussed out and only did a tiny head sketch on it that's pretty lame on his part. most artists i met usually throw in a little EXTRA detail on a cover blank because they are more special in nature than a standard piece of sketch paper. he should have at least made it a partial bust that filled up the page or added some tones. it actually looks like he was about to make it a bust and then got lazy.

Thanks, Plastic! Well I gotta say, Larsen's a very nice guy, however his price for this rather quick sketch, is quite steep. I gave him 200 bucks for a Raph, and I really like his sketch, but still I think it's quite expensive for a con sketch.
What do you guys think?

My girlfriend went up to him with that blank cover, because I thought that at sight of a beautiful lady, he might throw in a badass Casey. He didn't even know who Casey Jones was He asked her, if Casey might be in the book she just handed him. So she told him to sketch a Mikey, and that's what he came up with

But still, he was very nice. He signed my whole Image run and two Spiderman comics, plus a Spidey & Venom headsketch on a spidey blank. So all in all, he was very nice.

Larsen had some original pages with him, and he offered me the cover of Vol.3 #1...4000 bucks

At least I took a picture of it..

yes $200 for a single full bodied turtle is high. then again, Zulli wants $1000 before he'll consider drawing one. most turtle artists will do it for about $100, some even less. i guess if you want something from Eric Larsen, you have to pay what he wants i can't believe he didnt know who casey jones was. that shows me he's not a tmnt fan

$4k?!?!!!! no doubt that is a cool cover, but i've seen full on painted covers for way cheaper. i wouldnt pay anymore than $1500 for that and even that is aiming a little high. although, it is HIS art, so he can charge whatever he damn well pleases. maybe he really likes it and would like to keep it but figures if he can get that much for it, he'll let it go. if that's the case, i can totally understand the high asking price.

man...i really wanted to get something from him one day, because i do like his style, but for what he's asking i can get so much more from other great artists

in the end though, if you are satisfied with what you get for what you pay, than it's all good i've paid high a couple of times for something i really wanted and never thought twice about it because i was satisfied with my purchase.

you still made out great at that convention man. that was a lot of good scores

^^ thanks, I wouldn't have jumped on it if I didn't have the pg 46 OA. I dig sequential pages a lot. You get to see the art/story in broader span.
