Yeah, I debated pointing that out too, but since it was just a cover I didn't.

yeah i feel like the equivalent would be neca announcing a set of "mirage turtles", and then having them come out looking like this:

"what? they did look like this once. it's not what you were expecting? it's not technically inaccurate."

I want those Turtles REAL bad! I'd even buy the same sculpt four times with different glyphs painted on their plastrons.

I realise that's not the point of your equivalency though (despite it being a little disingenuous... we literally did get sculpts based on the first appearance (which was more the point) Mirage Turtles, and it's all we've had of Mirage Turtles for over a decade).

Trying to decide if I want to cancel my Renet pre-order based on the heavy speculation she'll eventually be released in the blue outfit.

Multiple Utroms still counts as "supporting the line", right?

Just wanted to say anyone looking to pre-order the figures I highly recommend Crisp Collectibles. $6 flat shipping on all orders and I just received my Universal Monsters Raphael from them this week. Packaging was NECA care level. Perfect amount of bubble wrap to keep everything secure as if they made the box and bubble wrap just for the figures. I DO NOT WORK FOR THE COMPANY AND AM GETTING NOTHING FOR POSTING THIS I really just wanted to pass this along as an alternative to BBTS. Got the figures for a bit cheaper than BBTS and it was faster.

Not a promotion just informing people of a retailer they likely haven't used before. I only posted in 2 threads and they are for these specific products. Wanted fellow collectors to know they can save some money and help a small business just like we liked supporting yours.

I'm all-in with these new announcements. The Archie figures look like some of the best stuff they've done, which is saying a lot after the movie turtles and the recent waves of toon figures.

Anyone think they’ll make an Archie version of Leatherhead? The toon one doesn’t quite do it for me. I like the look of the super7 version a lot based off of the toy but he is way to small. Leatherhead should be huge! Like one of the tallest characters for sure. So I’m hoping they’ll make an Archie version where he looks close enough to the original toy but huge.

Fury Toys, a Chinese company that most recently released a third party TMNT figure of Leonardo, announced a bi-pedal crocodile that will easily fit that void if NECA never produces one.

If the Archie line is well-received, then I'm very confident they will...

... it's the Mirage version I've got my fingers crossed for, though. And he'd need to be a beast!

Probably old news by now but archie slash uses the same body from cartoon Tokka. This pic is triggering to me because i preordered 2 slashes.

I think it's okay and actually makes sense here. At least they didn't use the video game Slash with the skinner proportions to make the Tokka.

Makes sense. FW Tokka was directly based on Playmates Tokka who was just a repaint/retool of their Slash figure, who Archie Slash's design was inspired by.

You're this deep into the line & only just now realizing they repurpose stuff? That's the way it's always been, & you've given it the OK with your wallet for years now.

Reusing parts like Leatherhead tail on triceratons,
vernon elbows on scrag etc are fine but reusing the entire
body including the belt is a first.

Not much you can do with turtles. They have the same general body plan (having said this, it does make sense to do-over the toon Slash as he was bulkier than the main bros). On a side note, if you take a look at Creative Beasts Studio and their popular Ceratopsian lines, they reuse the same general sculpt multiple times (it's because the Ceratopsians had a fairly consistent body plan, disbarring the frills and stuff). It's also cost-effective and practical from a business point of view. And the Ceratopsians in the the Turtles line, Zork and Zorax (or is it Zark and Zarax?) share the same parts as Triceraton infantry man.
