X2 was just boring, in my opinion. I've never been able to wrap my head around everyone loving it. I don't find the story compelling, at all. They spend the whole movie searching, and trying to figure out the Cerebro plan, but it never feels exciting or interesting. Definitely my least favorite. I wouldn't even say I like the movie.
Days of Future Past and First Class are a couple of my favorite movies of all. I want X-Men: Apocalypse way more than Age of Ultron, or Batman v Superman.

That's why I can't wait for the Rogue Cut! I'm really hoping for their to be a substantial addition to the future sequences. I also wanna see Quicksilver's li'l sister. It was a cute scene in the preview. I think I read that Shawn Ashmore (Iceman) did some ADR for it back in January, so they're putting some halfway decent work into it I guess. I've heard through the rumor mill that John Ottman, the composer, is putting together an expanded (maybe even complete!) score for the film to release, so maybe they're waiting for both the extended cut and the score to be mastered fully so that they can be released at the same time. I'm expecting a summer release date. Quote:
I really liked this little moment: It showed Mystique was more than just a emotionless killing machine X1 had made her out to be. I expect Apocalypse to be tolerable at best, honestly. There are characters being cast left and right, like Jubilee and Nightcrawler, but I sense that the movie will be little more than more Magneto, more Mystique, and more Wolverine. Same old same old. I'd love to see myself be wrong though.

Nightcrawler and Stryker, both where badly adapted. And the movie's story wasn't all that either.

I agree. The only thing I can say I legitimately enjoyed was Kelly Hu... and without even knowing a thing about the character or ever having read more than a few X-Men comics at the shop, that they utterly butchered her and sold her short.

Oh yeah. "Lady Deathstrike' was in it. Well, in X2's defense, she was brainwashed throughout the movie, and was slightly more recognizable then Callisto in X3. Who looked nothing or acted nothing alike Callisto should be.

While we're on the topic of butchered characters, my favorite X-Man is Iceman...

Never understood what people see in X-Men movies.
The only movie from franchise that I liked was First Class. It was genuinly interesting and entertaining. All others were a borefest with boring characters doing some boring stuff. And lots of CGI. Singer has an uncanny talent to turn awesome plot and interesting characters into mildly interesting awkward soulless show. Since he is behind new X-Men movie, my expectations are low. |

The X-men movies introduced the world to the modern era of comic book movies and most of them are generally considered to be good excluding X3 and the first Wolverine film.

Actually, given a choice between Origins Wolverine and The Wolverine, I prefer the first.
The final third of The Wolverine is just so BAD and nonsensical... at least Origins maintained its feel and level of quality throughout the entire film, for better or worse.

I think Fox might as well replace Bryan Singer with this man. At this point, they're really just about the same... If nothing else, it would make the X-Men movies more entertaining.

More like, does he like anything?
All good, all good. I like knowing that as long as he's around, nobody can claim with a straight face that I'm the most cynical and jaded poster in this place.

You know what's not on my list? Even one of the Reeve Superman movies. Though part 2 wasn't *terrible*. And the first Fantastic 4 movie is sort of OK in a guilty pleasure way. And oh... I completely forgot Road to Perdition. Awesome.

You know, I actually didn't *hate* the first one. I just didn't like it very much either... didn't seem like Ghost Rider was badass enough.

At least it was a bit more fun, then X-Men trilogy. Or maybe I just was in a good mood. |

Well, unless you said you liked Batman & Robin. I think I'm allowed to judge you if you call that a great CBM.
