The funniest quotes from the 2012 series thread.

One thing that even the biggest hater of this version of the show must admit is that the 2012 series nailed the humor of the original Mirage comics, it was full of wisecracks and witty comebacks.

Let's name them.

From "The Gauntlet", in a move that surprised even Michelangelo, Donatello has assigned April to be bait in order to lure Pigeon Pete out. She plays her role not very convincingly. What follows is an argument of an old married couple.

Donnie: What are you doing?
April: You wanted me to be bait, I AM BAIT!
Donnie: That's not how bait talks!
April: How do you know what bait talks like?
Donnie: I know that bait doesn't talk back!
At hearing that, the other turtles come out their hiding places "Oooh-ing" Donatello for that remark.
Mikey: Oh no you didn't!

From "The good, the bad and Casey Jones" After following Raphael to the Turtles lair, Casey Jones faints when he finds out that Master Splinter is a huge mutated rat.

Raphael: Hahaha, big, bad vigilante is afraid of rats.
At which Michelangelo comes walking over with a cockroach, which had Raphael retreat into his shell completely with a startled yelp.
Mikey: Heh, just like you and cockroaches, eh Raph?

As soon as Karai appeared in "New girl in town" the series had its very own Catwoman to Leo's Batman. Their flirtatious verbal jabs at each other are straight out of the vocabulary of an old married couple.

Leo: Seems like I'm making a habit of saving you lately.
Karai: If only you could have arrived five minutes earlier!

Karai: SERIOUSLY? Raph has the hots for a big newt?
Leo: Yeah really, he does have some weird taste.
He starts nudging her to remind her of the fact that she's with a turtle and shouldn't be calling the kettle black.

Karai: Haha, you're adorable, stupid but adorable!
Leo: (Realizing she used the A-word) Wait do you really think I'm...

"We're not that kind of sub!" always gets me when I think about it.

And every suggestion that the Kraang can't handle gluten.

Can't recall the episode, but there was one exchange between Mikey and Don that always made me smile.

Don holding up a Kraang data chip;
'Mikey, do you realise what this is?'

'Shiny!'

I agree though in principle though, 2012 was very good at little funny exchanges like that. Though credit where its due, I do think Rise has some good one liners as well.

From "Baxter's Gambit" The Kraang has brought out a kind of ray which causes objects to implode and both the Turtles and the Foot clan are after it. Donnie has just explained what it does and got a few blank faces as a reply.

Mikey: It does WHAT?
Raph: It makes things go "boom"
Donnie: Actually it makes things go "Sweeeh-chooo-pop!"
The others look at him in stunned silence.
Donnie: It's important to be accurate.

I'm not sure about funniest but I do remember liking Raph say:
"1987 called, it wants it's jumpsuit back"
and Casey asking Raph "Did you lay an egg down there" when Raph found Chompy.

Evil intentions alone are not enough to make a super villain, you'll have to walk the walk as well as talk the talk and poor Baxter Stockman never really got either of those right and always got himself in over his head. Although compared to his counterpart of the 2003 series, he got off extremely easy...

From "I think his name is Baxter Stockman" the Turtles have been grounded by Splinter for skating in the lair, disobeying his orders, the guys bust out to skate outside. When reaching THE perfect skate spot, Donatello spots Stockman.
Donnie: Who the heck is that guy?
Raph: I don't know, but he needs a beatdown!
Leo: Hold on, Raph. We don't know that he's gonna do anything wrong. He's probably on his way to... church?
Raph: Wearing powered battle armor? What kind of church is that?
Mikey: A really awesome one!
Leo: Ugh... look, it's my call! I decide who gets a beatdown!
[Baxter tries to break into a building]
Leo: That guy needs a beatdown.

Deciding that "Baxter Stockman" isn't a name that will strike fear into hearts of the common man Baxter tries his hand at getting himself a super villain name but the process turns out to be more difficult than he thought...
Baxter: I'm not Baxter Stockman, I am... THE BAXMAN! No, no, I am... THE SUITINATOR! ...AW, THAT'S TERRIBLE!... Captain... PUNCH-YOU... HARD. Why is this so difficult?
Mikey: I kinda liked the Suitinator.

I liked that episode, it had light humour content throughout with the turtles explaining to the Splinter why they were so battered up and later when Leo says to stockman:
"we don't want to hurt you" followed by "we don't? did I,..miss a meeting?" Though I'd not say it was the funniest line ever but I liked it.

As mentioned above it's not always just a line but the whole scene in some cases.

Yeah, humor-wise, that was bar none one of the funniest episodes.

Leo: Guys, we're ninjas, we move swiftly and this is the important part: silently!
But then he fails to see that he has reached the end of the roof he was running and plummets down with a loud scream. He then falls through the glass roof of a greenhouse where to his horror also hangs a...
Leo: BEEHIVE!
Still unable to to stop his forward momentum, Leo runs through the outer wall of the greenhouse, off of that roof onto a fire escape ladder and tumbles down several floors until finally coming to rest in a garbage pile. All of it with a lot of noise and happening in front of the others.

Raph: That wasn't very silent Leo!

The next day during training Splinter is the first to notice that the boys have been up to no good. because their training regime isn't at all going well.
Master Splinter: YA ME!
The Turtles sit down to attention.
Master Splinter: Is there something you want to tell me?
Mikey: Something we WANT to tell you? No.
Master Splinter: You all seem tired for some reason.
Leo: We're not!
Raph: Wide awake!
Donnie: Fresh as daisies!
Mikey yawns loudly in response
Master Splinter: So you wouldn't object to a little RANDORI?

*GULP!*
Splinter takes out his wooden sword and proceeds to smack the snot out of their shells.
Master Splinter: I hope you see turtles that the truth isn't the only thing that hurts!

The turtles arrive back at the lair all bruised and battered, (Look closely at Raphael in this scene, he actually has one of his sais stuck in his back shell.)

They try to sneak in but Splinter is there to welcome them with open arms...
Leo: Ah, Sensei!
Master Splinter: And where have you been?
Raph: Nowhere...
Master Splinter: How did you get so hurt?
Leo: Oh, that, uhm, we were, uhm...
Raph: Hit...
Donnie: By a...
Mikey: Bus?
Mikey grins at Splinter with his teeth falling out.

Donnie: Hit by a bus!?
Mikey: Well, what was I supposed to say? Meteor? Cow? Flying building?!
They sneer at each other.

And of course...

Master Splinter: The first rule of being a ninja is do no harm. Unless you mean to do harm. Then do lots of harm!

I liked splinters expression when he was asking 'how did you get so hurt?' also.
Seen it a number of times but never noticed Raph's sai stuck in his shell before

Being a big fan of Karai, I'll always consider episodes like "New girl in town", "City at war" and "Broken foot" among my favorites. The banter between her and Leo is just so funny, they act like they have been married for 20 years.

But there was more humor in those eps.

From "New girl" after taking over leadership of the Turtles, Raphael displays a more hands on approach than Leo.

Donnie: I'm working as fast as I can Raph.
Raph: Then work FASTER!
Donnie: Do you think yelling is going to help?
Raph: No I think HITTING is going to help.
Donnie: I'll work faster...

Raph takes the others on their first mission with him leading, the search for Snakeweed leads them into a far dirtier part of the NYC sewers.
Mikey: Man it really stinks in here!
Raph: It is a sewer Mikey!
Mikey: I mean more than usual, where does all of this stuff come from anyway?
Raph and Donnie exchange a look.
Donnie: Actually Mikey most of it comes from... (He whispers something into Mikey's ear.)
Mikey: WHAT?! DON'T PEOPLE KNOW WE'RE LIVING DOWN HERE?

After not getting any info about the mission from Raph, Leo sits watching TV, watching "Space heroes" where Captain Ryan is seen passionately making out with a blue skinned woman.
Celestia: We shouldn't be together Ryan, it is against your fleet's protocol.
Ryan: Well Celestia, you don't get to be captain of the Dauntless by following all the rules.
She whips out a gun.
Celestia: Good then you wouldn't mind giving me the codes!
Ryan: Celestia.. You've broken my heart!
He pushes a button and vaporises her.
Ryan: But my disintegrater ray still works!
With a sad look he picks up her boots.
Ryan: At least I have these to remember her by.
Leo: Boy relationships are complicated!

Here's a piece of trivia: Ryan mentions the name of the ship being "The Dauntless." Which means it's named after THIS.

The Douglas SBD Dauntless was a carrier operated Dive bomber which most famously flew off THIS carrier.

The USS Enterprise, which makes the circle round again concerning the Star Trek references.

Yeah that's on my fav ep list too.
I also liked Leo's lit up face and thumbs twiddling when he went to tell April about Karai.
Nice to see another Karai fan btw.

And April slapping his face after he told her that Karai is in the Foot Clan.

Yes I did, always interested to read material around her. I liked the idea of them crossing paths, with it starting out on a different tone I found myself was hoping 2012's would make it

So far as the show, there was another scene I found lightly funny but I can't remember the episode, it wasn't dialog though. Leo had asked Leatherhead for a lift up, likely thinking he'd jump from Leatherheads hand or something but Leatherhead just grabbed him and threw up upwards, Leo was looking startled as he was flung through the air.

That one’s definitely up there. Also “Sorry to burst your possessed bubble, Leo.” from Parasitica. Season 1 is way too good.
