That's also because it was one of CN's first original cartoons along with Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, etc. that all came in the mid-90's. Before that all CN had was old Hanna-Barbera shows from the 60's-80's.

I remember when it debuted for the first time around 1995 or so. I watched it all as a kid. People remember it because it was fun and are now nostalgic for it. But for example if I had never seen the original show as a kid and had no nostalgia for it, I don't think I could ever get into it now as an adult.

How do you explain the long lasting entertainment of Looney Tunes or Tom and Jerry cartoons? Those are even older and don't follow any storyline yet they are still incredibly laugh out loud funny and enjoyable even now? You can argue that people can look at this stuff with nostalgia goggles but the fact of the matter is that genuinely good entertainment is good entertainment regardless of whether or not you're an adult, the time frame it was made or if it follows an ongoing narrative.

I don't see how people can be bothered by Powerpuff girls being slightly different, its not like this was some plot driven series or something. It was a better than average CN show that now people are nostalgic for, that's it.

It may not be a great show to you, but there's no denying how it's definitely one of Cartoon Network's greatest shows considering its lasting impression.
Oh please indeed. This is the first I've heard of someone not thinking PPG was an amazing show. Because it most certainly was.

Exactly. This isn't the 80s TMNT series we're talking about here. PPG is a great show that still holds up to this day along with Dexter's Lab, Johnny Bravo and Ed, Edd n Eddy.

Yes, PPG was awesome. It was a show anyone could watch and enjoy whether you were male or female. Quite a few of my male college friends loved PPG and would talk about it with me all of the time. This isn't about nostalgia. It's about people being happy that a show they genuinely enjoyed is coming back. If you don't want to watch it, then don't.

Fun fact: Some of us think 80s TMNT holds up pretty well also.

I like how Bubbles has blue thingies in her hair and that Buttercup has a quiff. Little touches.

This.

I'm being perfectly honest. I watch the show every now and then and get great entertainment value out of it.

The 80's TMNT cartoon holds up very well besides the cheaper episodes scattered around. Most of the show is fun, comical, and the wacky plots keep it entertaining.

Its the same reason people still like 60's Batman. Its camp but GOOD camp.

Yep, I still love the 80's TMNT as well. It's still funny and makes me laugh whenever I watch one of my DVDs.

I honestly didn't know my privacy settings didn't allow you to reply. I must've changed them a while back and forgot. I meant no condescending behaviour by it. I was in fact awaiting a reply from you. My apologies. Nothing to do with my balls.

Also, I do actually suffer from Asperger's Syndrome. So thank you for that. Very smart of you.

Back on-topic; I wonder if the new PPG series will be hand-drawn animation or CGI? It's hard to tell from the images. I wouldn't mind either way.

EDIT: It turns out ZariusTwo also suffers from Asperger's Syndrome. Guess I can't take offence to this little outburst of his anymore, huh?

Now he's trolling me with visitor messages.

Mate, when you're on ignore, that means I don't deal with you nor will I ever have time to deal with you.

And yet here you are. Again. I'm not trolling you. It was one massage. I'm just pointing out your despicable behaviour.
Run away and hide behind your prejudice. It's fairly obvious who's in the wrong and the insecure one here. My privacy settings will most certainly stay as they are now.

Man, this is the last time I bring up TMNT in a non-TMNT thread.

ANYWAY. New PPG series. Hand-drawn? CGI? A mix of both? Thoughts anyone?

I don't know if it will be hand drawn or CG, but I do hope that it won't be as brightly animated as the special was.

You need to learn what "spamming" means. I wasn't spamming your precious visitor section, I was pointing out what a deplorable person you are. Do you always verbally attack people with insults regarding to disabilities regardless of whether or not you know if they actually have them or not? People like you make me sick.

I wasn't a fan of the special's animation one bit. God knows what possessed them.

Well, I hated that and the fact that the Girls were OOC half the time. It was just horrible.
