Indie Pogo; Smash Bros like game but with indie game fighters
Came across this last night, it's essentially Smash Bros but with indie characters from PC games. There's the Kickstarter link if anyone is interested in checking it out, at last glance it got funded so looks like it'll be coming soon! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...247/indie-pogo

The kickstarter doesn't seem to be doing really well, they also seem to have gone really obscure with their characters, I mean I only recognize 5 of them and it's not like its hard to get indie characters licensed, I mean most indie games always end up including all the other popular indie characters as DLC costumes or making cameos. It's so overuse and actually annoying but here in the game that it would make sense to have them all shoved in is the one that doesn't have them.
That trailer also shows me why people are fed up with "retro" nostalgia, the stereotype for indie games is that they have to be pixelated. Looks ok, I would probably get it if it had more characters I recognized and it got good reviews but we'll see. |

A find it odd that this is getting all of the attention and representative love when it's like... the 4th or 5th "indie Smash" project out there.
And even then I find it hard to call this an "Indie Smash" since like... it plays so differently.
