Now I'm even more excited about the sequel. The 2014 movie was pretty underwhelming except for any time Godzilla was on screen, of course. Mothra, Rodan and Ghidorah?! Why in the hell weren't they in the 2014 movie? Even if the human story was lame at least we could have had updated versions of Mothra, Rodan and Ghidorah to enjoy instead of those generic Muto monsters. Bring on the sequel!

Didn't really like the first film, but it isn't stopping me from being completely excited about this one. Plus, more monsters means More Godzilla screen time. At least it should anyway.

I still love how people are complaining about Godzilla screen time from the last movie. It's as if they've never watched a Godzilla movie before.

I enjoyed the 1st film, I'm pretty sure the 2nd one will have more Godzilla and Monsters this time.

But I wonder how they are gonna portray Mothra and Rodan, They are often Godzilla's allies when fighting other monsters, And no doubt that King Ghidorah will be the protagonist of the sequel.

So I can see a team up of Godzilla, Mothra and Rodan battling King Ghidorah in the sequel's climax.

Indeed. Even in some of his better classic films, he's probably only on screen for about half the runtime.

Seems too early to do this but cool news. I thought the first movie was pretty good, not amazing but it's not like other Godzilla movies are amazing cinema either, the whole concept is cheesy outside of maybe the original.

i can't believe it! literally can't believe it!

i loved the first movie, and i thought Legendary only had the rights to Godzilla? but i guess they bought some more monsters from Toho!

now since we're getting a trilogy, i'd really like to see Gigan or King Caeser, in G3

but even that's asking too much! Thank you Legendary!!!
one question needs to be answered, will Mothra have the Twins?

I'm pretty sure Rodan and Godzilla will be adversarial towards one another, if only for the first portion of the film, much like how they were when they first encountered one another in Ghidrah the Three Headed Monster, where yeah, Godzilla, Rodan, Ghidorah, and Mothra (in larva form) appeared for the 1st time in one movie.

Right. If Ghidorah is anything like it's Showa interpretation, which was that of a marauding space dragon that decimated planets, I don't see any of said Kaiju being patient with Ghidorah's shenanigans for very long.

I'm curious how they're gonna get Ghidorah over in this. First movie was fairly grounded and realistic, and Ghidorah, conceptually, is far more fantastical than the MUTOs. I'm genuinely intrigued to see what they come up with.

That's a hell of a lot of monsters all of a sudden, though. Either they're all from space, or there's gonna be some creative storytelling going on to explain how those things could have existed here for however long without anyone knowing. It's gonna be interesting to see where they go with it.

Not excited about this at all anymore, last one was very forgettable now that I think about it and the mosnter-mash their doing in their second movie doesn't inspire confidence not to mention that King Kong vs Godzilla only made sense in the Showa era.

But it's fine, the superior sounding Shin Godzilla movie comes out this summer with a fresh look.
