Season 3 opener was pretty good, looks like they upped the budget again too.

Fitz was going for that Emmy in the last scene. Haha, loved it.

That's cool, I didn't think of that during the Simmons episode. I hope they don't cast a huge star for the role of Danvers, so she can be in the show if they end up having a presence.

Then again, this whole Inhumans thing is going to HAVE to crossover with the movies no matter what, right?

I don't see any way Carol Danvers is ever on the show especially years before she appears in a movie. Unfortunately Marvel Studios dictates what happens in the MCU. Agents of Shield does it's best to fit in with it but it's obvious Marvel TV has no say in the direction things go.

That was a rock-solid winter finale, and I'm really excited for what comes next.

It doesn't seem like many people are talking about this show anymore (not here specifically, but in general), but it's been consistently good for a long time now and I wish it got more respect.

Well, speaking personally, my opinion has always been Agent Coulson should have remained dead. His resurrection takes a lot of steam out of The Avengers, plus his character doesn't interest me. Having him be the protagonist of the show doesn't interest me.

Plus, Daisy/Quake/Skye might be cool, but it would mean sitting through one and a half seasons to get up to speed with her before she becomes Quake. Just not a good jumping on point for me.

Glad it's working for you, though. I hear absolute consensus that the show has come quite a long way in terms of improving itself.

Awesome mid season finale. I watched it a few days ago on rte two. I've watched most of episodes of Agents of Shield since season two and I think it's great show. The characters make the show worth watching. I was surprised that the first part of season 3 aired in Ireland ahead of the UK.

*grumble* Doesn't mean Dan Ketch doesn't already exist on the movies or Netflix side of things, I guess.

Well with the introduction of Ghostrider I hope that mean season 4 will focus on the supernatural.

Marvel have given the OK for the rest of the traditional Inhuman characters to be used on the show

Saying they have more freedom doesn't mean they have access to the rest of the Inhumans. If Marvel Studios is still planning to make an Inhumans movie (Feige said over the weekend that it's still in the plans) then no way they have access to Black Bolt and the rest of the Royal Family.

Right. And at this point -- sadly -- anyone who appears in a TV show first will not show up in any film to come. I really hope that's reversed for "Infinity War."

Absolutely.

I wouldn't expect that to be the case. Given how "Age of Ultron" and "Civil War" have been original stories simply borrowing titles, I'm thinking the "Infinity Gauntlet/War" stories will be more of the same. Smaller scope, no need for the Defenders to cross over from Netflix.

Perlmutter and Feige still have bad blood, so I doubt that that will happen any time soon.

I would love to Coulson again in the movies. I would love to see Daisy in the movies or have more cameos of movie characters. But because of two guys feeling butt hurt they have to mess it up for everyone else.
