Congrats on your anniversaries, Duckie and Leo. I'm going to be celebrating my twelfth with my BF on July 2.
What made me happy yesterday: Watching a Harry Potter marathon with my mom.

Happy that my new TMNT IDW TPB's came in over the weekend. Also a book on reptile and amphibian identification, so my nature library now has a nice new addition to it. I also FINALLY got my Kindle back up and running (thanks penny!) so I can read my copies of Art of War, Secret Life of Spiders, and Egyptian Book of the Dead again! (I have some really unusual tastes in books.....)

I cleaned out my office recently & gathered up a bunch of product that hadn't been moving and took a bunch to our favorite video game store, some to Half Price Books and some to a buddy of mine. I now have more room PLUS we got $175 out of it! Win/win!!

What made me happy yesterday: Coming up with a new story idea for a TMNT fan fiction. I love when I get new ideas.

Parents and I ran up to Philly this afternoon to see this neat outdoor exhibit thing. The only place to see it in the U.S. for a week before it moves on to I think France. Rained quite a bit, but at least in that case it wasn't crowded or hot; and was cloudy enough that the exterior lights of it were on and could be seen well enough.
Only down side was parking is an issue around there. BUT... that actually ended up working out great because we found we were able to park in the art museum's parking garage for free (as confirmed by a security guy) because their ticket thing wasn't working. |

Agreed. I've been coming up with some fun ideas myself, and one of them involved pairing up Bishop and Oroku Kazuo as baddies for my next fic. Yeah, Shredder's "little brother" from the OT. Remember him? He's carrying on the family tradition of taking grudges WAAAY too far..... I'm starting to think that their entire family is nuts. Oh, and I found a way to include Pimiko too, I'm thinking of having a "Lady Shredder". Can't wait to get started on that one.

A new one- just caught some awesome pics of a pair of kites (the bird of prey) flying on my walk to work. Ive seen the pair before, but this was the first chance I had to get pics of them. So cool- I love nature!

Woohoo! It may never get a sequel, but looks like Tangled may be getting a series!

Awesome. I loved Tangled, so I definitely will check that out.
And that idea sounds awesome, Duckie. Can't wait to read it.

Thanks, I had another one this morning, about Splinter reminiscing about the day they all mutated (in my AU) and what it has given them all.

Having a two-hour skype chat with a TMNT buddy and talking about fanfic tropes that irritate the crap out of us - including the current obsession with mpreg which is driving me insane (seriously, it's everywhere right now). Other gripes also included OOC writing (for example, woobie Leo), badly written kink and stories where a character is sexually assaulted and then they have a cry and a hug and are back to normal by the end of the story with no lasting trauma.

I'll add in an additional happy-maker being that I'm now Skyping with Net, who has the most relaxing and yet excitable and still somehow mellow voice. It's so cool hearing American accents! Dude has the perfect voice for audio books.

What makes me happy: That I'm going to be spending time with Mom today. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, but I enjoy spending time with my mom and just having fun with her. It's always so awesome.

So was it you two with the tabs?
The fanfic.. yeah.. some of that stuff and a burning dumpster - perfect. (Continued as spoiler because it's not a "happy" thread thingy.) Spoiler:
What makes me happy... hearing a bullfrog in the early a.m. hours that is probably down hanging out in a neighbor's pool. See, at one time, we didn't have bullfrogs just hanging out right here. We used to have a goldfish/koi pond in the backyard when I was young and one summer we bought a couple bullfrog tadpoles. When they were froggy enough we added them to the pond. One ran off eventually, the other stuck around. For some years while we still had our pond, some nights it was here, other times we'd hear it from someone else's property with a pool. Was it still the one we bought? Who knows. By now the ones we bought should be long gone... but be they either descendents or others that were attracted here by the ones we owned, every summer we STILL hear one out there some nights. |
