DCAU: Superman Would Have Been Raped

http://www.cbr.com/superman-darkseid...na-bruce-timm/

Yep, according to Timm and Dini, Superman was to have been knocked up while brainwashed during the series finale of Superman: TAS and his son would have grown up, overthrown Darksied, and then launched an attack on Earth during "Batman Beyond"

O_O

I've heard a lot of weird scrapped DCAU plans before, but I think this one takes the cake.

Writers seem to love the idea of Supes being an absentee father, in some form or another.

Interesting tidbit though. Thanks for sharing Z, I missed this on CBR the other day.

Other DCAU pitches that were jettisoned, ranging from intriguing to silly to downright disturbing, include:

B:TAS
- Bruce Wayne being bitten by an actual vampire
- A "Silent Knight" episode where no there would be no dialogue (this was later re-purposed for a much shorter bonus feature)

S:TAS
- If they'd gotten another season, the writers would have liked to explore the public negativity of Superman's image after he tried to take over the world while brainwashed

Batman Beyond
- Selina Kyle is revealed to have artificially inseminated hundreds of women. Then when their boys are the right age she kills their parents in hopes that their boys grow up to be Batmen 2.0. This was repurposed into the JLU episode "Epilogue", replacing Kyle with Amanda Waller.

JLU
- Batgirl gets injured while crimefighting and Batman forbids her from going out again. Babs decides to finish the mission through radio contact with Huntress and Black Canary; this was an early draft of "Double Date".

Originally, the DTV film Crisis on Two Earths was going to take place in the DCAU, but eventually was re-tooled into its own thing.

Superman was to have been knocked up?
Woah, Kryptonian biology is way different than I was expecting.

Technically, isn't this where Damian came from?

Another one I'd forgotten: originally the only reference Batman Beyond would have had to Freeze was an instance where Terry opened Bruce's fridge and found Freeze's head just sitting in there. In the end the writers decided to give him an entire episode.

It's Bruce Timm, what do you expect?

This man has had rape or sexual fantasies and innuendo in his shows/movies for years. I guess we know how his mind works.

He even wrote the comic where Batman knocks up Barbara:

I guess we know how his mind works. I can't even begin to imagine what other kinds of sick and twisted fantasies he has in his head that he's never put to paper out of fear of backlash.

Oh, he HAS put them to paper. He published a book full of naked cartoon girls... some of them bear intriguing resemblance to DCAU characters.

Bruce Timm would probably do full blown porn if he wasn't an official employee of DC. He probably knows he would get fired and never allowed to work on an official DC production again if he went full porno so that holds him back.

It's pretty funny when you realize a lot of the creators of our favorite cartoons and shows when we were kids all have these sexual perversions and fantasies and are just as bad as all the fanboys you see in fandom.

That sounds terrible but I'm sure it would've worked ok somehow, if you look at the DCAU plenty of things just don't look right on paper but they made it work. The Terry is the son of Bruce is such a terrible idea and yet when I watch the episode I don't hate it.

I remember reading about this and they made the right decision. While that would've been a cool gag it was at the expense of the character who was great in BTAS but in TNBA he kind of lost his way but redeemed in BB.

It wasn't retooled very well as you can easily see that this is an episode of JL with different voices/a few different characters but it still fits perfectly as the event that took place between JL and JLU. I would count it somewhat canon to the DCAU.

And that's what makes his stories so awesome.

I think 'Cubed is referring to sexual fantasies, not twisted stuff a la Return of the Joker.
Also, I don't know who makes up these thread tags, but they're hilarious.

Also Paul Dini was the one who invented Harley/Ivy's relationship in the 90's and back then it was just because he was obsessed with lesbians and fetish'd their relationship. He had no desire to make their relationship for the LGBT crowd like they do nowadays. I don't even think people knew about gay rights back in the 90's.

It's true. Just as God said, "Let there be light!", and there was light, the idea of gay rights just appeared out of nowhere, right after the '90s. A modern phenomenon!

We didn't exist until the 1990s at all either.

Also true. When the USS Defiant went back in time to prevent the Dominion from wiping us out in the 21st century, Captain Sisko's crew successfully prevented the genocidal destruction of humanity BUT at the cost of introducing the LGBTQ population.

Temporal anomalies are a tricky thing.

I don't know if Son of the Demon is considered canon, but Bruce was willing and able in that.

But yeah, Morrison had him drugged and taken advantage of.

You do realize that people have sex right? And that most everybody wants to have sex in some way, shape or form. That also applies to fully grown adult superheroes. Wether or not they wear capes, Bruce, Barbara, Dick, Diana, Clark, and the rest are still going to have desires.

I remember this. I first read this on wikipedia in like 2008 or 2009. I absolutely loved the concept. Cause I remember when I first saw the Legacy two parter, I was thinking to myself "OMG Superman and Lashina totally did it!".
