Same thought here.

I don't have Hulu, not familiar with it. I already have Satellite/Netflix and Prime, that's enough I think Would check it out otherwise but not enough to make me want to sign up for something else.

Yeah but they didn't plan on making DS9 at the same time as TNG was in pre-production.

Spin-offs airing alongside the original show aren't exactly uncommon (Fear the Walking Dead is a recent example), it's just that planning on making them from the start is really odd. It makes more sense to wait until a few seasons in to see if it's actually popular, you don't want to risk making two failures at once.

Yeah the Star Treks just overlapped. Other shows such as CSI all started at separate times too. May be the same thing here, two different ideas/settings they like and one might kick off first.

This franchise needs to just die, the last films have been getting diminishing returns and it's time to let this franchise die already and do something else.

Oh, wow.

I wonder if either of these have Neil Blomkamp involved.

I can never forget how District 9 rocked my world inside that 2009 movie theater. Wasn't a big fan of his last two films, but I loved his concept art for the Alien sequel he almost made.

Probably no chance of that. Though apparently James Cameron is helping him with Alien 5 somehow...?

No, nothing is "going ahead." Yet. Though in the current climate of Fox's properties being absorbed by Disney literally any day now, the prospect of anything at Fox "going ahead" is probably nothing that should or can be banked on.

Ridley just doesn't understand story. Sometimes he gets great scripts and makes great movies, sometimes he gets bad scripts and makes sh***y movies, but ones that generally still look good.

Some years ago, we had something similair about Rocksteady Studios developing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles video game.

I guess many would believe it easily, because of the studio's name...

I still can't let that go. If not just for the game itself, but for the strides it could make for the franchise.

You know it'd sell well, you know it'd be gritty, and you know it would bring so many new fans on board with an edgier take on TMNT.

Good grief... even "Alien" isn't safe from this garbage.

Well, obviously.

I mean, Ripley was a Female Protagonist, but she was a WHITE female protagonist, and thus she might as well have been a Nazi. The fact that she comes from a place of obvious privilege undermines the entire exercise.

Jokes aside, I've pretty much just stopped looking forward to things. In the current sociopolitical climate, ALL pop culture entertainment is trash. And it's gonna stay that way until people get this obsession with "woke" garbage out of their system, which could take ten or more years.

I just watch, read and play older stuff, anymore.

Also, doesn't Disney own the "Alien" franchise, now? Could've sworn that happened. If their hands are on anything at all, you can guarantee that it'll be Woke, and it'll be Sh*t.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Disney owns Aliens when they purchased all of Fox's properties, so they have anything 20th Century Fox made over the years.
