But really: if he was working for Shredder and Krang, that didn't give them enough time to establish a story before the season wrapped.
I've never thought he was working for Krang/Shredder back when I watched it. And considering the episode is from 1996, a time where not everyone had internet yet I doubt the original website spoiled lots of people. Not to mention, by then, the TMNT fad was pretty much over and the show no longer had huge ratings and popularity like it did in 1988-1990.

Fun fact: The Mirage ninjaturtles.com website started in 1996. Now it's gone forever.

It's a shame since I really liked that website. I used to read it often back in 2001-2004. That's how I read the first seven issues or so of volume one.

The website went all the way to 2012 or so. I remember it being destroyed somewhere right before the Nick cartoon started.

So is there any official TMNT website left that has good info of every TMNT incarnation in general?

No. I do remember someone archived all the pages of ninjaturtles.com before it was taken down though.

A shame really. The old ninjaturtle.com website was pretty damn good.
