They will probably be in it, the movie changes some things, such as the monsters being animals instead of humans.
Here's the Synopsis. Primatologist Davis Okoye (Johnson), a man who keeps people at a distance, shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla who has been in his care since birth. But a rogue genetic experiment gone awry mutates this gentle ape into a raging creature of enormous size. To make matters worse, it’s soon discovered there are other similarly altered animals. As these newly created alpha predators tear across North America, destroying everything in their path, Okoye teams with a discredited genetic engineer to secure an antidote, fighting his way through an ever-changing battlefield, not only to halt a global catastrophe but to save the fearsome creature that was once his friend. |

Well sh**. I know that Rampage isn't particularly a sacred cow (or maybe it is?) but... isn't Rampage's whole thing that it's normal people becoming the monsters and tearing stuff up? Sounds like this could be fun but why even call it Rampage?

That promo poster is very KONG. Or at least Mighty Joe Young. I was hoping they could have gone a bit crazier with it. I mean, did any NES game have better box art than the Rampage port?

I hope they don't f-ck it up, I mean is it really that hard? It's giant monsters fighting for no reason and destroying cities. As long as they don't take it too seriously and it's just fun it'll be great, The Rock being there helps me think they know what type of movie it should be. Yeah the monsters not being human kind of sucks but I can overlook it if the tone of the movie is right.
The games have always been fun, they're not meant to be the best games ever but just arcade fun. |

Almost like the street fighter movie not being about a tournament but about rescuing kidnapped hostages and.... ohhhhh...

Unless they shove some "love story", typical dumb "Hollywood drama" and "family values" then I see it might get some traction.
Who am I kidding? They will do it anyway... |

I loved me some Rampage: World Tour on the Nintendo 64 ... but not once did I ever think about how this series would translate as a major motion picture.

well the reason i want humans instead of animals is just for source material sake, but bc it is a new twist on the whole monster universe, there just not another animal/monster on the loose. The monsters actually being human adds a layer of depth and even makes them more relatable to the audience. They could also play a lot with the idea of emotional backlash and consequences of their actions in there monster form.

What's wrong with you guys? Do you realize this is an adaptation of Rampage? What are you expecting?
The Street Fighter Analogy is crazy Rampage has little to no story, it's a parody to get you to play as giant monsters and wreak havoc. As long as they make an entertaining movie they'll more than do the source material justice. The tone of the trailer is a little too serious, but I'm guessing it's going to be sillier when we get other trailers. Still it looks like some Kaiju fun just from that trailer even in the worst case scenario that it doesn't go for a more comedic approach. |

Isn't that kind of the counterpoint, though? It has little to no story, sure... but within that, what it DOES have, is humans being cursed with becoming giant monsters who have a hankering for smashing buildings. If they couldn't even be bothered to work with or build on that very basic premise, why bother calling it "Rampage" at all? This looks like "My Pet Kong" or "Rise of the Rock's Ape" or something.

Dwayne has a terrible track record for movies:
https://www.rottentomatoes.com/celeb...8210-the_rock/ His only hits were his role in the Fast and Furious series, voicing the Moana character, and about 3 other movies. I'll also give him Mummy Returns because that was his movie debut even though most of it was CG scorpion monster. Seriously, he only has like 5 movies that aren't rotten. |
