Hmm...
Christmas Eve. To-do list for Christmas pretty much complete and the food stuffs I was trying to do turned out pretty well. Including one thing I hadn't a clue what I was doing but figured I'd give it a try. Temperature was supposed to be 62(f) today, don't think it ever made it, but upper 50s is nothing to complain about when we could be ten or twenty degrees colder this time of year. (Although it's also raining... to think it could have been snow for Christmas eve... Darn.) Knowing that TBS will start airing the 24 hours of "A Christmas Story" movie soon and if nothing else good is on tonight I can at least go to sleep by the warm glow of "A Christmas Story." And then probably wake up exactly where I left off - does anyone else do that?? lol (Edit: Apparently TNT will be getting into the act and marathon it as well. In case you need more channels of it. lol) Last edited by IndigoErth; 12-24-2014 at 04:25 PM. |

Yule was great, we had a lovely dinner at my grandma's house with a party of 8 plus my cousin's dog. And it was the first Yule me and my partner celebrated together.
In Norway we exchange gifts on the 24th, so my mom was the one reading up the tags on the prsents and headed them out, both my uncles got alcohol breath testers from grandma which we had a blast with. Before the party we watched Dinner for One, which since 1980 have been a Yule tradition in Norway to watch, the black and white version of course. It usually airs the 23rd, but we saw it on YouTube since I was at work when it aired. |

A few weeks ago, just after Thanksgiving, my aunt Kate, my m]late Mom's twin sister, entered the Final Round of her fight with emphysema. Her lungs are failing and she needs an oxygen machine to breathe. When I talked to her daughter, she said Aunt Kate's biggest wish was to see just one more Birthday.
This Christmas Eve, she got her wish, turning 65 years old. That's how old my Father was when he passed away on that same day in 2010. 65 is a nice round number. I'm glad she got her wish and her miracle, as I fear she has not long. Merry Christmas. And for the love of God... please... don't f*cking smoke. Please. PLEASE.

A lot of people at dinner tonight called my outfit cute, and my uncle hugged me and told everyone that I was the smartest person there all proud-like.

Stuffing myself with food and booze, surrounded by loved ones, and lying on my side like a beached Beluga whale (not a totally inaccurate description, given how studiously I avoid the sun).

Eating a good dinner yesterday, Mom making chocolate chip cookies this morning (and I'll be eating some in a little bit), and hearing from my BF with Christmas wishes. So all in all, a really decent day.

My dad visited for the holidays and got me a new trumpet for Christmas. My girl got me a Ninja Turtles Monopoly game...it's cools because of the custom tokens, shaped as characters.

That's awesome, PD. I never knew there was a Turtle Monopoly game. I hope they make something like that for the Nick cartoon, too.

I got Skyward Sword yesterday, and so far it's pretty fun. Over the years I've read about what a horrible game it is, so I got it for Christmas and want to judge it for myself. Doesn't seem so bad to me.
