Friday the 13th and other superstitions

Today, 13 September 2019, is Friday the 13th, in folklore considered the international unlucky day. It was once thought to be the day Jesus was crucified (which has later been dated to occur on 3 April 33 AD).

Today, Friday the 13th is since a long time ago considered nothing else than superstition. But do you known anyone who somehow still believes in this, or other superstitions.

I know it's a bad day to go camping. That's about it.

I lived in a house with a lot of half hearted belief in superstitions. I do remember my mother once trying to cure a wart on my hand with a magic potato, though. So. . . I dunno.

It didn't work, if anyone is wondering.

I didn't even notice it was Friday 13th until I saw this thread. That shows how much I care about this

Not really a superstition but more of an old wives tale: my maternal grandmother thought that drinking cold drinks in the 2-3 hours after having lunch/dinner would give you digestion problems.

AND a full moon. Maybe it's just a coincidence, and I don't believe planets (and other celestial bodies) have any effect on us, but it always did seem to bring the crazy ones out back when I worked in stores. lol My sympathy to those people working those jobs today and tonight.

I always liked Friday the 13th, to be honest. Love Halloween and sort of always connected them for whatever reason as a kid, so I though it was cool.

Didn't even realize it was the 13th today either, but to be fair my sleep yesterday and today have been pretty screwy and I just barely remembered that it's even Friday.

Only thing that made it unusual for me was the huge sticks up the behinds of my managers early this morning. Almost wanted to just walk out and come home due to being made to feel unwanted there. And the rudeness and prickishness was not confined to them either. Was all over the place.
