Motorhead covering Judas Priests "Breaking the Law" is a favorite of mine too.
Yeah, it's really nice. It works wonderfully in context, too, opening episode two of season four, playing over Bojack silently trying to deal with the events of the third season, and figuring out where the hell he's going and what he should do with himself next. The different feel of the cover fits the mood he's in and would be in after last season perfectly.

So...there's a band that covers pop and rock songs in Gregorian chant style and...it's awesome???
My Immortal? Extra goth, reduced emo! This one is running wild on tumblr and blowing minds with its awesomeness Heaven Is a Place On Earth? No longer distracting me with how I could make a parody anime opening animatic with it! Is this the song The Last Unicorn deserves? Yes it is! A Bright Eyes probably more appropriate for the nature of Watership Down than Art Garfunkel's original How do you make My Heart Will Go On bad@$$? This way! (Probably my favorite one so far) Finally an Into the West that's in my singing range I mean, I can get the more gothy songs translating well to Gregorian style, but they can nail the stuff that logically wouldn't.

Not too shabby of a Tom Petty cover. Considering the circumstances I imagine rehearsal time was very limited.

Moulin Rouge's take on "Roxanne" is so much better than the original by The Police.
Boy, if you're singing to me like that and belting out my name like a sick duck, I'm turning on ALL the red lights. And yet I crack up every time it comes on the radio. I'll take a tango version from a narcoleptic Ukrainian baritone any day.

^^I disagree wholeheartedly. Just listened to it and nah, gimme the Police instead. But it all comes down to taste.

Anyway I like Lorde's version, but Local H just did it better IMO. Also no mention of Man who sold the world by Nirvana? I love Bowie's take but the Nirvana works better for me. It all comes down to taste and preference. Like I prefer Nirvana's more bleak take for Man who sold the world, but prefer the more fast paced "Team" by Local H than Lorde's more synth heavy melodic "Team". And One I disliked? this version of the song sucks, it makes me sad, like why?

The Supremes - Keep Me Hangin' On
Kim Wilde - Keep Me Hangin' On To me, the remake has a unique 80s synth rock spin on the original, and its attitude gives it an improvement over the original. |
