Nah, well not all of them anyway. I suppose that gives the character a degree of gravitas on a meta level, having successfully murdered them all in a separate continuity. Takes a bit of the assumption that the protagonists will succeed out of the story.

A funny side note: Both issues of our comic about an all male team have passed the Bedchel Test.

Not really looking to 'start' anything.

I do continue to be surprised at the amount of time being given to Lindsey. Looks like her story will be running parallel to the Mutanimals story and The series could end up being as much about her development as the mutants. Perhaps a parallel ending with her rejecting Null while the Mutants reject Hob?

I'm guessing Lindsey is going to be our window into what the Null Group is how they do what they do etc. we learn along with her. Hob is definitely killing first and asking questions....never.

It's pretty cool to see the Archie material get its turn being reimagined in IDW.

I wonder (it probably is, but just wondering) if her name actually is Null or if it's just the company name. I might've missed it but I don't think either of them addressed her by name.

(And wow this topic went to two pages pretty fast!)

Female Null is gonna be cool. I love the design for Mutagen Man, it's so much better than the other designs.

I don't particularly care if the Mutanimals pass 'the test' nor do keep track of points for some feminist progress game in my head, I just thought it was surprising that, given how the stars of the book, the mutants, are all male, that would happen, thanks to this side story involving the villains and an unadvertised side character. It's almost certainly unintentional, just odd.

Not really unintentional, no. It was definitely my intention to make sure there were fleshed-out, fully-realized female voices in the story, both because I always try to, and because this particular franchise does tend to be so male-driven.

And I'll admit that while I never really think about the Bechdel Test ahead of time, quite often when I'm rereading my script I'll go, "hey, Bechdel Test passed!" and give myself a high-five.

Paul,if you could, what went into deciding to gender flip Null this time? I am not in fanboy outrage just curious in how the behind the scenes worked out for adding in the twist on the Archie character. Thanks in advance.

<3 <3 <3

It's super refreshing just to have a cast where EVERY character is really fleshed out.
And I'm digging pajama Herman. XD

I think the problem is that apparently this guy is a f*cking @sshole. If he's the type of person who refers to the Bechdel test as "bullcrap propaganda" then I really don't give a sh!t what he thinks of me. The Bechdel test isn't even really a measure of equal representation, it's more like a check to see if a piece of media has a bare minimum of two females talking about something other than a male character. If simply mentioning that is too "radical" for you then please just don't speak to me.

I think it's great that you've gone out of your way to do this and I applaud you for it
