I gotta say though i hope the accessories REALLY make the Mike from wave 4 and the Leo and Don from this wave worth it. Just having New heads and their signature weapons will be a major bummer when they could have at least been the Video Game stealth Turtles

But SAL COMMANDER!
I'm behind, just now saw these. Thanks for sharing and they look great!! Sal Commander looks sweet and Space April and Casey are super cool looking also.

So what's so special about these? They seem like Lego knockoffs. I know they're not, but why so popular if they have that dumb body shape?

These are way better than lego figures. They have more articulation, more sculpting, more paint, more usually accessories and a style a lot of people like. The bodies usually have solid printing on them or a sculpted peice above them so they look fine in my opinion.

Great description! That's my appeal along with the great selection of characters and designs done right!!

Minimates also get loads of other cool movie IP licenses, Ghostbusters, Marvel, Terminator, Aliens, Prediator, Back to the Future, Walking Dead, and X-files to name just a few.

There are plenty of people that like the simplified designs of course. But I think a large part of this is the sheer selection and variety of figures that they have produced. Thy have been producing Marvel figures for over a decade and often produce characters far too obscure to get a full scale figure. It's also one of the only places you are going to see so many licenses represented in the same scale. And a price tag of under $10 for two figures doesn't hurt either.

Here's what DST Zach said on Minimate Multiverse

Regular Mikey in Series 4 SHOULD come with pizza accessories and two great heads.
Regular Leo in 5 SHOULD come with a TV (with his space show), two books and two amazing heads.
Regular Don SHOULD come with beakers, mutagen canister and a welding hood.
Dark Horizons Raph SHOULD come with two Kraang.
*
I say SHOULD because that is the plan. Prototypes are painted, no reason at this time for them to be cut.

Oroku comes with a baby.
Chromedome comes with energy sword and whip.
Baxter comes with a mouser.
Space Turtles with standard weapons.
Kraang with naked Kraang and gun.
Nothign for Mozar or Fugitoid.

Sweet! Once again, DST delivers in terms of selection and accessories. I'm in for every figure in both waves.

Sal Commander and Triceraton look great! So cool that we are getting a Mouser with Baxter too. The Space attire is well done! Fugitoid looks better in those pics than the initial solicitation, IMO. Love this line and very pleased with the human character selection. Where else are you going to get Oroku Saki and Hamato Yoshi?? Thanks for sharing!

In my excitement, I left out how happy I am to finally get that blue Kraang!!

Yeah, Fugitoid and Mozar look way better, especially since Mozar is do tall. I love the Mouser accessory and How we're getting more Kraang, it shows how much DST cares about us.

Totally agree!! They treat the customers right. My Splinter came with two right arms and within like 2-3 days I had a new set of arms after reaching out to them. Great customer service to go along with a great figure line!

Right? Thats what caught my eye immediately. As far as I know, the only Hamato Yoshi toy made before this was from the 2003 series, and I don't know if there's ever been a non-Shredder Oroku Saki. Very cool inclusions here. I'll have to try to get my hands on them.

You are correct, Hamato Yoshi was only made in the 2K3 Playmates line. Of course I am not counting the mutations line from the 87 toon as both of these guys were produced but obviously they weren't stand alone figures like these!

Yes, SO thankful DST is giving us such a great alternative & better selection than Playmates. All we need to know now is who the TRU & Comic shop exclusives will be for series 4 & 5.

The series 4 specialty exclusives are Stockman and Oroku Saki (in the S4 description)
the TRU exclusive is Chrome Dome ( DST left it in the comments in the announcemen video)
The series 5 specialty exclusives are Space April and Hamato Yoshi (in the S5 description)
the TRU exclusive is Bishop ( he's the only figure who wasn't in the picture for the specialty assortment )
