I don't know about ratings, but toy sales clearly weren't doing so hot, to the point that they had to rebrand the show twice and shelve the entirety of Ninja Tribunal until later.

That's because it went on 4 years, which is about the lifespan of a show these days and kids lose interest and thus don't buy the toys. Same thing happened to the Nick cartoon, only they're not generous enough to keep renewing the show for more seasons like 4kids was.

This is why cartoons should never be tied to toy sales. This isn't the 80's/90's anymore where kids loved playing with action figures. Kids these days use youtube, ipads, tablets, mobile phone games, etc. in addition to videogames so they don't play with toys as much as they used to.

I liked both toys, ordinary books, comic books, and videogames. Never cared much for films and TV series as a child, except for action-adventure cartoons.

I played more with toys than with anything else as a kid, even video games, but after I got a good pc and internet connection I didn't really do much else... so CyberCubed might have a point

In which case, they should update by bringing out more games and apps based on the show.

Yeah that was probably also a factor, though I still used my offline computer a lot, just not as much as my toys and if it had been online things might have been pretty different
