There is supposed to be a tag team turmoil match as a pre-show match for Night of Champions.

I'd like to see the Prime Time Players win and take the belts from the Shield later in the night. The tag team division was brought back to life last year at this PPV, maybe the same thing will happen again.

The fact that the tag division needs an annual resurrection at all saddens me. I absolutely love tag team wrestling, even moreso now that I've gotten into a good groove with my own partner.

I agree with you Leo. Tag Team wrestling just ain't what it used to be. I wonder what teams will be in that Tag Team Turmoil match?

Sadly, the business got away from it a long time ago. We had a discussion about it at a seminar at the Monster Factory a while back. Some promoters would rather book guys as individuals than a team, for various logistical reasons. Also, deep down I think most guys measure success in terms of how well they do as an individual. Not that guys don't like to be part of a team, but I think deep down, if they had a choice, most guys would want to "make it" as a single.

I'm cool either way, but I do love working tags. For one, it's less pressure, and I feel it's really essential for guys who are starting out to do tags before singles. For some reason I was booked entirely backwards, going into singles right away and not doing tags steadily for most of a year, and not having a battle royal until almost three years in. It should kind of be the opposite. It was great on one hand to be thrown in the fire and have to fly or die right away, but really nobody is competent to work a convincing singles match in front of a crowd on their first go. All the errors I made in my first batch of matches really stand out; I relaxed a lot more doing tags. If I ran out of moves, I could tag out. If I was getting over a chest infection and couldn't breathe, I could tag out. I could also really study up-close what other guys were doing, how they got a reaction, how they'd cover mistakes, all that stuff, and I could emulate it. I could be in the match but not have the match be entirely about me; if I messed up, my partner could hit some flashy 'rana and put the match back on track. Not only did I get to work with a larger group of guys, but it absolutely helped me become a better singles wrestler, too.

I always think back to what Nash told me when we had him for a weekend, how he so much always preferred doing tags to singles because there was so much more you could do, psychology-wise, you can make the matches longer, do more moves, tell broader stories. He said he always found tags to be much more fun and much more interesting, which surprised me a little bit. I also liked the tip, "If you're breakin' a sweat, you're doin' it wrong." It wasn't advice on being lazy, it was how emphasizing personality over flashy flippy moves will prolong a career; I can't really argue with it. (He also said it with more F-words; that's one thing I hadn't suspected we shared, but there ya go.)

Anyways, one of my goals was always to be part of a semi-successful tag team, so it's been great to live that out. The fact we got the straps for a bit was neat; we've been getting booked in more places so who knows where we'll end up? Oddly, my main promotion inexplicably has the team on a break for right now, and simultaneously we get invites from feds who want a new Rockers. So it's kind of the best of both, I get to do singles in one place while keeping the team fresh in other places. I'm glad; when my boss said he wanted to give the team a rest for a few months I was actually kind of upset. Not that I don't want to work singles, but we put a lot of work into getting our groove and we didn't really peak yet. Plus there's some good teams out right now that I'm really excited to work with. I'm in a good place right now.

Been watching Raw is War 1998 the past few weeks. The Attitude Era just had so much more souls than what we have today.

RAW was pretty good last night. It was great to see Edge back, and I loved the segment he did. It was just great. The last match was neat, too, and I really didn't think Bryan would win, but he did, which surprised me since he's been losing all this time. Too bad Randy still landed an RKO at the end, but that just hypes up the feud more so that's a good thing in and of itself.

The worst goddamn wrestling show I have ever seen.

Too bad it looked like crap after he hit it and landed squarely on Orton's dick.

Never saw "Heroes Of Wrestling"? I'd argue that was worse by a fair margin.

Atleast Heroes of Wrestling was a fairly low rent indy affair.

This was the number one wrestling company in the world at the time putting on a show that seemed to be made to amuse Eric Bischoff and nobody else.

Plus....I thought the nWo were supposed to be 'cool heels'. WHY WAS THE MISS NWO CONTEST FILLED WITH OLD, FAT LADIES?!

THAT mystery will most likely remain unsolved.

I guess. Both shows were bad, but between being either drunk or prehistoric pretty much nobody at the Heroes PPV should have been anywhere near a ring at that point. When Neidhart is the one "saving" your PPV main event, God help you. And at least Hogan wasn't drunkenly making out with a snake, or with some skanky rat at ringside.

I actually miss watching that awful HoW show on tape; I think I taped over it with either "Wrestling With Shadows", or soft-core cable porn. 50/50 odds.

Goddamn I hated Souled Out. Very rarely do you get a clear cut example of why a company could fall from grace so hard and so fast.

Bischoff on commentary talking about 'It's good to be the king' and such. Four years. That's all it took.

Yeah, but Bischoff was the classic annoying heel, and he played it so well. I could never stand the guy, but that was his job. They had a few Souled out PPVs, didn't they?
