I think the Trailer was fine. Seeing that shot with the Blockbuster made me feel nostalgic about the 90s. So I'm looking forward to all the 90s references they might be throwing at us. its gonna be fun.

Finally able to watch it with sound. The music... wasn't what I imagined it (but it's a trailer, whatever), but it all works. It's a suitable teaser. Shows the tone, teases the villains and the players. The first actual trailer will be held to a higher standard.
Plus, this could possibly be the most Samuel L. Jackson in a Marvel movie yet. I'm getting like a "Long Kiss Goodnight" vibe from this, except instead of a sleeper assassin, it's a superheroine who can move worlds or something. And as a huge fan of TV's "Agents of SHIELD" I'm super interested in Younger Coulson.

I thought that was pretty good for a teaser trailer. I'm looking forward to seeing a female-led movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It will be a nice change of pace.

Captain Marvel's Cat will have a new name for the movie. She will be called Goose instead of Chewie like in the comics. The name is obviously a reference to Top Gun.

How come?
I'm still debating whether or not to see this in theaters. I love the MCU, but the individual films are about 50/50 with me. I've loved all the Russo bro's efforts, as well as a few others. The trailer didn't do much for me, but I am excited to see the Skrulls. |

I enjoy Zarius because he's proof that I'm not the absolute limit in being a cynical curmudgeon.
We good, homie, we good.

Well, you guys know I'm not the biggest fan of these Comedy Central try out sessions posing as superhero movies anyway. I've always made the argument that if Batman & Robin were made by Marvel and came out today, it'd make millions.

People are so weird, with the "We want it REAL"/"We want it to be a silly cartoon" moods they get into every few years with comic book flicks. I kinda understand it, but kinda don't.

While I can’t agree on the Batman vs Robin comparison, being that Civil War, Infinity War, and Avengers are all leagues above that film, in my eyes, I have become very selective with which MCU films I invest in.
That trailer looked better than I expected. I want to like this movie, but so many of the non-Russo MCU flicks have left me dry lately (GoTG 2, Dr. Strange, Ant-Man 2), that I really need to hear that these films are bringing palpable movie atmosphere and bold choices before I check them out. Long story short, I’m absolutely loving about 25% of the MCU films that come out, but that other 75% is some of the most lifeless, boring movies I can remember watching. Even when it has strong components, like quality actors, they still have this stale feel about them. |

Well I'm hyped. That shot of Carol fighting those ships in space was badass.

Still not excited. I just feel Brie is bored/phoning in her performance

This one, to me, looks perfectly fine. But it also just looks like "Marvel Movie #84: This Time, It's A Chick".

Damn, I think I'm an old man because I keep getting confused with DC Captain Marvel who is now Shazam. This already has me being against this movie but the movie looks awful, the suit is ugly, and how are the skrulls one of the coolest set of villains not even shown doing anything cool? Why isn't this Miss Marvel with the iconic black outfit instead? I can almost imagine Kevin Feige throwing chairs in his office when he saw that the slowpoke mess that is DC somehow beat them to the punch with a successful female superhero and just rushed this.
Young Samuel L Jackson looks so weird and plastic-like, it's distracting but that's not a bad point, I actually find it cool that movie studios are doing it even if it's obviously not perfect at this point. |
