Wow, had to go look him up and see how old he is... That is some serious love of his work and incredible to think that he has been the performer for these characters for the entire life of the show until now, at age 84. That a man in his 80s could still deal with performing them is impressive. We should all be so capable for so long. Hope he enjoys a nice long retirement, sounds like he surely still has it in him to do so.

Thank you Mr. Spinney for all of your wonderful years of bringing such iconic characters to life. You will be missed, but you have definitely earned a nice retirement.

A lovely man. Rutger & I met him at NYCC in 2010, he was very pleasant. Hope he enjoys his down time.

Yes, I don't think he's been inside the Big Bird suit for awhile. I'm not sure how much puppeteering he was doing. But he was still doing the voices.
