This is one of those movies I hope is really good but knowing Eddie Murphy's track record since the 2000's is probably going to be absolutely terrible.

Think of what Jim Carrey's Dumb and Dumber 2 was to the first. Whenever they finally make a long awaited sequel to an old 80's and 90's movie after like 20 years, it turns out to be bad. I can only think of a small handful of exceptions.

You give him a good, funny script and he's always been gold. He just hasn't been given one of those since... most of us were teenagers.

Just rewatched the movie. Yeah, that's pretty hard R. It begins with lots of boobs and there's probably 30 or more F bombs in the movie. Samuel L. Jackson even shows up around the middle to say "muthaf*cka" during a robbery.

Eh, now I'm really disappointed part 2 will be PG-13.

heh, kinda reminds me the first time I rented Ghostbusters and saw the actual movie and not the tv-censored version. The dream ghost sequence and the whole line about 'yes it's true, this man does not have a dick' and so forth caught me off guard.

I think there might be a push to get it out more sooner than later. You know, release it in November to the theaters that are open, then 2-3 weeks later do the Bill & Ted 3 VOD model.

I mean, if they want to cash in on and ride the BLM wave and all (because I don't think it's going to be going this strongly next year). Just saying. Nothing wrong with that if it helps it make more money.

I hope this turns out good as the original is classic. But everything about it feels like "direct to video sequel" if it came out in the 90's.

Kind of sad. They shot it as PG-13 to maximize profits... then just end up dumping it to Amazon Prime, where it could have been R or whatever and it wouldn't really move the meter.

I don't understand, though. Why not release it to the theaters that are actually open? Like, what's the harm? Do that, and THEN dump it to Amazon Prime.
