I'll stick with my blu rays of the three animated movies. I have no desire to see this re-adapted, especially without Robin Williams.
I hope that Mulan remake at least gives Ming-Na Wen a cameo.

Wow, add insult to injury for Robin Williams, first a lousy Jumanji remake with actors who shouldn't even be in it, Jack Black? Seriously? Now this?
How the Hell are they going to do Jenie live action? Abu I can see, all they gotta do is get themselves a monkey and how are they going to do the talking bird too? Both the Jenie and the talking bird are fan favorites in the Aladdin fan base. They better follow suit with the story, the Animated version I mean. I think I'll pass on this one. Me being a major fan of the films and series is already disappointed with what happened in Once upon a Time series. |

You do realize that's why we have CGI to do this sort of thing, right?

Didn't Dan Castellaneta do the Genie's voice in the animated series?

With how the live action films Smurfs and Scooby Doo characters in CGI I worry what they'll have Genie look like
Please no real bird for Iago, it'd look just strange. Awe I'm screwed either way with this film. Though I did think it was odd how out of all the Disney adopted films they wouldn't do this one? Seems like it'd be one of the more easy Disney films to work with. |

If Jasmine was live action she would be simply breathe taking. I have always loved Jasmine's looks the best out of all the princess's. I do hope they get an actual woman of middle eastern descent to play Princess Jasmine (and all the cast really). I mean I know it is most important is the acting ability and suitability of the actor, but I hope they do not just get some Italian or Hispanic something actor that only mildly looks the part to play the characters and actually go for authentic looks. I have always found middle eastern women exceptionally beautiful. Their thick dark manes of hair, their olive skin complexions, that run any where from light to deep in tone, and their eyes! My God middle eastern women have most beautifully shaped eyes. I mean damn look: [SPOILER] But at any rate I am happy they are doing Aladdin. Not upset about this.

Here we go again with ridiculous complaints over insulting actors who have passed away like Ghostbusters and Harold Ramis.
Genie was not Robin Williams most memorable role and Genie wasn't even the main character. Plus it was animated and Jumanji was based in a book. They're movies. Nobody's insulting anyone. Oh ya Disney needs to end Aladdin (of all things) forever because of Genie. Stop with the deliberate cynicism. I know some people just enjoy complaining about movies. The only one I could see anybody having a legitimate issue with would be Mrs. Doubtfire.

It'll be interesting to see if the movie ties to that genie-centric prequel that was announced.
I'm curious if anything from the original story will be added to the movie (like the Genie in the ring, for example). It'll be hard to imagine someone other than Robin Williams (or someone mimicking Williams) as the Genie, but the live-action movies have had excellent casting so far, so I'm inclined to trust that they'll make the right call.

As for Genie. Just watch Once Upon A Time to see how well they do him. Yeah he's not blue but he wasn't entirely blue either in "Kid In Aladdin's Palace" and that was a live action sequel to the animated films.

I'm a fan of the Animated films and the series, you can only imagine how unhappy this makes me Yes, I'm a wear of Genie's VA being casted a different VA in Return of Jafar and the series but that was back when Robin Williams was a live and had his reasons for not wanting to come back in those and he knew. With him being dead and doing this with him dead it just I don't know doesn't feel right to me I'm not happy about the Jumunji remake for many other reasons. |

It's actually a continuation of the 1995 film not a reboot.

How about a live action "Tailspin" movie, using the same assets (Baloo, etc.) from the live action Jungle Book?

If we're redoing the Disney afternoon screw movies, I just want a regular Darkwing Duck tv show.

Will Smith is early talks to play the Genie. I think he would be great in this role.
