What happened with Firefly? Gotham has some odd teen girl instead of Garfield Lynns, lighting effects specialist and pyromaniac and now Ted Carson, that one-shot who appeared a few years after Garfield Lynns appeared is Firefly again?

She appeared in one cameo in Dini's run didn't see? I think she appeared to oppose Stephanie Brown too. I never cared for the character as she started in other media and it was the last season of Batman:TAS opposed to the classic run. Its funny how I by a very long-shot prefer other media characters in Ninja Turtles, but do not think much of other media villains in regards to Batman.

Agree with Mr Freeze. I also think the Riddler is underraed.

To be honest I like most of his villains.

Those two are my two favorite. I wish Mr. Freeze can either get a,happy ending or find a wsy to flesh him out and not be limited wirh the Dini origin.

I enjoy Batman's C listers as evidenced by my love of Dr. Phosphorus and The Spook.

I didn't know those two - you're obviously a huge Bat fan.

I haven't read Freeze in New 52 but I heard that they turned him into a psychopath who didn't even know Nora and simply lusted after her? And he seen his mum die as a boy in the ice. Is that true? I much prefer the Dini character take.

Nora was said to have been cryogenically frozen for decades and Victor grew a mohawk. One of the horrible outcomes of the anti-marriage stance comics took for awhile.

You really should dig into the back issue bin. So many fun characters to discover from the two mentioned above to Signal Man, Gearhead, Terrible Trio, and Calendar Man among many others.

Lol that sounds awful. I read a bit of new 52 but never came across Freeze stuff, it sounds like they butchered his story and the character.

Cheers, I might just do that when I have more time.

Yeah new 52 Freeze never even met Nora and just got obsessed with her, carrying on as if she was his wife. And he was so far in the delusion that he really honestly believes she is his wife and is confused when told otherwise. I guess the New 52 people felt he wasn't insane enough.

Have any of you ever watch videoes from this Youtube Channel, Gotham Rogues? I have subscribed for 13 months and found it to be one of the most interesting channels on the website.

I am surprised at how little attention Rupert Thorne has gotten. A mob figure without a gimmick who could rise above the "freaks" era that dismantled the mob as Batman emerged. Even after Batman: The Animated Series he he just appeared to rehash little known awesome villain Dr. Phosphorous desire to kill him for being indirectly responsible for his accident that made him into his freakish appearance and that was it.

Here is a good write up on it.

Also, within the first link is a write up on one of my favorite Batman stories, one which was a reverse trial to dtermine who was Batman's actual killer complete with a villainous jury, D.A., and Judge Al Ghul!

Batman's rogues gallery has quite a few doctors in it (Mr.Freeze, Poison Ivy,Scarecrow, Professor Hugo Strange) and it made me think. Who is the most intelligent Bat Rogue? The two that come to my mind don't have the doctor title. Riddler is often cited and also Ra's al Ghul. Ra's may be due to his age of 600 plus.

I find it really weird, having just read Batman: Terror and reread Batman: Prey that Hugo Strange was given a blow-up doll for a girlfriend.

I think he would've been a much more effective rogue if he didn't have this weird impotence / social awkwardness issue. I was glad the Gotham Knights story arc left that by the wayside... (if I remember correctly)

And the two smartest Bat rogues are most definitely R'as al Ghul (simply for being 700 years old) and Edward Nygma.

Would it be unfair to try to rate because of Ra's age? If he were say 35 like Edward then Edward would be. If Edward was born during the mid 1400s' and he was 650ish and Ra's was 35 it would be the same answer just the age advantage?

Well, I'd argue that R'as hasn't just been sitting around doing nothing. He's brilliant, a warlord and master strategist, not just Methusaleh.

Oh, and Bane. Bane's a genius. R'as even admitted it.

Very true. Its just hard to think think of his intellectual capabilities based on his look and the stain Batman and Robin put on him even after The Dark Knight Rises. It causes him to be overlooked. It appears he is the main villain in Tom King's run judging by the last panel of Batman#50.

All Bat writers have their faults. Scott Synder and James Gordon Jr. for one and I feel Scott put Edward on the track of being a cold hearted serial killer that Tom picked up on. If you write the Batman title your head swells. It comes with the job.

Eh, Snyder didn't turn anything on its head. He did a damned silly RoboBunnyBat GordonBat run, and kept pushing Harper Row and Duke Thomas, but that's it. His glories still outshine his stumbles... Court of Owls, Death of the Family, Endgame, Metal.
