Was anyone else reminded of NBC's Hannibal from the deer?

That's exactly what the big flag says!

侵掠如火 = raiding & plundering be like fire
疾如風 = rapidity be that of wind
不動如山 = immovable like a mountain
徐如林 = compactness that of the forest

It was almost like I was watching an episode of Korra with all the spiritual development and amazingly-choreographed elemental action scenes!

^This. I thought of Avatar when they started talking about the spiritual realm.

Holy crap someone PM me a link please. Not one that can only be viewed in America.

Do people agree with the Turtles' elements? We've got fire, wind, mountain and forest. Usually I hear of earth air fire and water, and I would totally switch things around--Raph can be fire, but Mikey would be water, Leo earth and Don air. I think.

You know it is so much more interesting when the mutants are actually characters and talk. Tiger Claw, Rahzar and Fishface are actual "characters" and not simply monsters of the week like the other mutants.

It really goes to show you how much more interesting mutants are when they resemble the old animal mutants from the original cartoon and Archie, and not "monsters of the week" like most of the ones this season.

Honestly didn't like it. All the combat was great but other than that it felt rushed and a lot of it was silly.

I won't nitpick everything, but my main beef was with the campfire scene with Splinter. His speech in the first movie has moved me to tears several times, but here he shows up and basically says "you're an asshole, you're a retard, you're a nerd and you're a big pussy. Now go dress up and play make believe in the woods. Also I'm not dead."

And then Mikey is the only one to get emotional.

I think it works pretty good for them, it aligns well with where Splinter felt they each needed to put their focus.

Although I'd thought before that I'd not have minded Leo being Earth. (Ok partly because it's a bit of prefered symbolism myself. lol) But wind is awesome too. Wind is storms... also love that.

It worked well, Splinter explains each one and it's all about turning their weaknesses into strength.

Donnie was wearing a cloak. A cloak that look exactly like the one he was wearing in this episode.

I don't know what they could have done to make fit better or to have some character development or continuity but in the grand of schemes (other then what goes on in a story arc) it really doesn't matter.

Story arcs are never going to be steady and pack with padding filler as well as plot amnesia. Mikey's maturity is never going change unless a certain writer and director is in charge of a episode, and we are going having keep dealing with this Capritello nonsense until the end of time of this series.

It better to start accepting this things now and try look forward to the other stuff that the show has to offer.

Maybe it's hard to animate a cgi character to cry?

Donnie wearing a cloak in the storyboard doesn't mean it was meant for this episode. The dialogue in the storyboard wouldn't have made sense at the end of this episode.

If Splinter says he's separated from his body, but his body is still alive... Well nice of you to finally visit your kids and give them some hope/guidance, eesh. lol

Karai is so prob the one taking care of him then if he's unconscious.

Okay, but it really started off as Chinese. The phrases on the banner originated from Sun Tzu's The Art of War but was adopted by a Japanese daimyo called Takeda Shingen who used these exacted phrases on his own banner. In Japanese culture it was more popularly known as Fūrinkazan.

Yeah, tearing up like in the first movie... the feels.

Edit: Dammit... I agreed to go on Skype with a friend, repeat started but no tv where the desktop is. These need to repeat more.

That was the best episode of Season 3 Just annoyed that the idiots at playmates colored the mystic turtles outfits instead of leaving them white
