Ernie Reyes Jr - Needs Kidney Transplant
http://comicbook.com/2015/06/07/form...es-jr-needs-k/
Former Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Actor Ernie Reyes Jr. Needs Kidney Transplant Film and television star Ernie Reyes Jr. is in need of a kidney transplant. His sister Destiny Reyes has started a Go Fund Me for those of you that would like to help. "Thank you for taking a moment to see why and how you can make a difference," Destiny wrote on Go Fund Me. "My brother, Ernie Reyes Jr., was recently in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) fighting for his life suffering from kidney failure. Ernie is currently undergoing dialysis treatment 3 times per week for 4 hours a day while waiting for a kidney transplant. This is a very challenging time not only for Ernie Jr.'s immediate family, but a challenging time for our family as well." Reyes Jr. is perhaps best known for his debut role in Berry Gordy's The Last Dragon. For me, I think of Ernie's stunt work as Donatello in the first live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or his role as Keno in the sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze. Though a career highlight might be when Ernie played the pesky guy that beat up Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in The Rundown. Recently, Ernie has made appearances in NCIS: Los Angeles. Ernie needs $75K for the transplant and at this moment people have donated $13k. (via angryasianman.com) If you'd like to donate, click here. http://www.gofundme.com/erjrofficial |

I saw this on twitter earlier and it made me really sad. I just saw Ernie at a local Con here recently and he seemed to be in good spirits. There was a panel of Liefe Tilden, Judith Hoag, Ernie, among other previous turtles from the first two live action movies.
Ernie was so humble and nice. You never would have guessed that his health was failing. I figured others would want to know. I actually donated a little in hopes of him meeting his goal. I just hope he was smart with his money and can fund some of that with his health insurance. |

Wow, this is really sad to hear. I will definitely try to contribute on the GoFundMe page. I loved him in every film I've seen him in, even Surf Ninjas. Will be keeping him in my thoughts and prayers.

I just funded. I was sad to hear this yesterday, Ernie really inspired me to take martial arts when I was a kid. I met him at a con a few years ago, and was really happy to see that he is a great and humble guy as I viewed him when I was younger!
I'm keeping him and his family in my prayers. |

Poor guy. I hope they reach their goal. Met him back in February 2014 and he was incredibly nice. Sending all my best to him and his loved ones.

It sucks to hear this is happening. I hope they can reach their goal and that he can get the transplant. I never met him, but he seems like a pretty nice guy, and I loved him as Keno in SOTO. My thoughts are with him and his family as he goes through this.

Sorry for bringing this up after so long but I can't find any recent news. How is Ernie these days? Did he finally get the new Kidney?

-edit - the current GoFundMe explains that he had to go in for dialysis 3 days a week. Still pretty miserable, I'd imagine. |

Looks like his latest Gofundme worked. Someone donated $40,000 yesterday and that put it over.
