Some things I noticed about Figure-Archive.net:

- Cheapskate 2 stock photo is under 1988, when it should be 1991

- Only one or a few fan club form figures are shown for 1988.

- Pop-up mutant display figures are not pictured under any year.

- Giant Turtles should be 1990 (early 1990 as they were made in late 1989), not 1989

- Information for the basic assortments is disorganized. Wave 2 (Baxter Stockman wave) was not released at the same time as wave 3 (Rat King wave). Wave 4 (Scumbug wave) was not new when wave 5 (Fugitoid wave) came to stores. Same goes for wave 6 (Groundchuck wave) and wave 7 (Tattoo wave).

- Disguised Turtles and orange and blue pockets April are 1991 (early 1991), not 1990

- All 3 series of the Wacky Action sub-wave should not be under 1990, but 1989, 1990, and 1991.

- Headdroppin’ Turtles are early 1992.

- Could not access both the 1993 and 1994 pages.

Everything else was correct figure-wise. The best sources are from the Playmates Toys catalogs and information on here.

So would it be safe to categorize the rereleases as follows:

Blue cardback- 2nd half of 1992/early 1993
Purple cardback/no card no coin/punch tab- 1993
Purple cardback/magenta bricked trading card/punch tab/2nd half of 1993
Purple cardback/purple trading card that matches cardback/hang tab-1994/Slam Dunkin Don White Jersey would have apart if this set as the Walmart exclusive with no purple warning label.
Purple cardback/card & coin/hang tab-1995/1996
Purple cardback/coin/hang tab/1996
Purple cardback/purple warning label on top left (Walmart)-1996

Also, in my research,
Blue Cardback Movie Star Leo does not exist
Purple cardback Rat King with either Trading Card or Coin does not exist
Purple cardback Slap Shot Leo with either Card or Coin does not exist

I was going from memory for my post. MyTeeFineStuff has incorrect years for items.

ChicagoTmntFan1 will have to surmise a little for release dates, because most original TMNT toy listers online go by copyright date of every item (as it’s easier on our brains to do that).

At the time, it felt like there were three separate TMNT toy lines (the basic wave figures, the basic and sub-wave reissues, and the sub-waves). TMNT was the best toy line of the 90s that was most important at the turn of the 1990s.

The 27 back Fugitoid is the earliest release. The 31 back Fugitoid is the second and last release. The first release Fugitoid has the 1st ever April on the back, whereas the second one has the new 90s April with PRESS on the back.
No 27 back Mondo Gecko? 31 Back Fugitoid is last release? See pictures I attached.

I haven’t seen a 27 back Mondo Gecko. A 31 back Mondo Gecko is listed as a 27 back Mondo Gecko on eBay right now. I think eBay sellers are ignoring the Wacky Action figures on the back and only counting the basic assortment figures.

The 44 back Fugitoid is definitely the last release. I don’t know how I missed that.
