Remember Ciro had also said he wanted some threads to stay open so that it is open for further continuation later on.

I can't believe you're being so needlessly aggressive about a question that was mostly rhetorical anyway.

Or it gives somebody something to work with. There could still be a continuation series in a year or so after all the Mirage shouldn't be the only incarnation that takes the Turtles past their teens.

I seriously doubt that, whatever the next TMNT show is will be another reboot. Ciro won't have a chance to follow through with anything.

Even the Nick animated comics from IDW are pretty much over, so Ciro also couldn't theoretically continue more plotlines in comic form. |

I don't think anything Nick does with be a strict hard reboot. I think anything TMNT related in the future will be spin-offs using the 12' timeline as their cannon and lore. |

I don't see why they would cancel the show and then continue with the same universe. That would mean they would need to keep Ciro, the voice actors, etc. on board before they move on to other shows.

That is not being cancelled. Why are you saying that when you know you're wrong? |

LOL, what? What's the difference? People say shows that ended are cancelled all the time. It's just semantics.

Wrapping up and ending a story just means they are at a place where they feel the story can come to a clean close. |

So by your logic, every show gets cancelled. No show ends for a reason. They're all canned by a network. Is that what you're telling me? And people say shows that ended are cancelled all the time? That doesn't mean they know what they're talking about and/or right either. |

That's the case, if the Nick cartoon ends with a proper conclusion and hopefully it does, you can still say its "cancelled" either way.
I'm sure Ciro would jump at the chance to do a Season 6 or beyond if Nick renewed it. So you can still say it's canceled. TMNT is a franchise that could theoretically go on for a number of seasons (as seen by the original cartoon, 4kids series, or the sheer mass of comics), so if it ends, it's still canceled. |

I prefer "sh*t-canned". Is that accurate?

This is a ridiculous argument, if a show ends because it's a mini-series with a planned ending its one thing. If it ends at the end of a season with wrapped up plots and no major plotholes, it's still the same as saying it was canceled.

How is it cancelled if the creators are the ones making the decision to end it? Seinfeld ended because Jerry was getting burned out from it. He decided to end the show, not NBC. Shows that are cancelled are because the networks decide it, meaning that the show is being forced to end. In this show's case, Ciro is making the decision.
