Steven Universe
So, anyone else here who likes the show? It's a pretty great show, and one of my favorite cartoons of the 2010's, along with TMNT 2012 and Adventure Time, and am excited about the new wave of episodes that are gonna be coming in starting next week on Thursday.

It's about frickin' time they start next Thursday! I'm excited to see where they're going with Peridot. Even the author of The Martian is.

It's a great little show wth a strongly built world. I like how it's humor punches up, and how light hearted it's body horror aspects are.
Plus the voice cast is top notch. Can't wait for new episodes next week.

I don't really like Peridot. I hope she's not a permanent Crystal Gem.

Thanks to France releasing a bunch of episodes early, we've got a bit of catching up to do.
But for someone who is bored by sports, Hit the Diamond is probably in my #1 spot for favorite episode. If only for how silly it is. I think it's Lapis that's going to wear a little thin on me, though after all she's been through, of course she's going to be broody and mistrustful.

Don't worry. She and Lapis will be staying the barn while Steven and his "gem moms" go back to Beach City. As of Steven Floats, the newest "Crystal Gems" have not appeared in another episode, and probably won't for a while. With the focus of the plot currently, it's probably going to be more silly yet fun plots for Steven and the main gems up until Jasper or more gem trouble comes up.

I'm glad Peridot isn't much of a focus anymore, but now I wish the show would go back to being about weird magical adventures instead of a show where they sing about their feelings for an entire episode.

I've only seen the first episode. I only watched it for Cookie Cat. It looks weird.

I disagree.
Though I'll admit the most recent episode wasn't my favorite. Now that they've introduced the main plot, the one-offs with non-main cast characters just don't gel like they used to.

Yeah, I don't see it, either. Peridot still sucks but the focus has shifted away from her for now. I'm pretty excited to see what's up with the Diamonds and the episodes in space were great.
Steven fusing with Amethyst was one of the best things and that was fairly recently. |

I never saw it before but was curious after seeing it mentioned around so I started watching the 1 hour blocks they showed everyday on CN over the holidays and I was surprised how good it was. It was nothing like I expected.
Nothing about it is that original but it's still quite intriguing. It just keeps you interested. Even filler episodes feel meaningful. I'm probably in a minority but my least favorite characters are Amethyst and Onion boy. I find her "oh snap" attitude annoying. Onion boy seems like a bit of an jerk to me. I don't know. WTF was with him showing Steven his birth video? That was the weirdest thing I've seen in a non-adult cartoon.

Onion is a weirdo who does weird things; that's the point.

I'm pretty convinced Onion is Autistic. Not in the demeaning way, but seriously. From his non-verbal behavior, to his pickiness with food, to his lack of self-awareness that he's making Steven uncomfortable.
As for Amethyst, I'm really proud her for how she's been developing, and how she's come to find who she is as a Gem after meeting the "Famethyst" in That Would Be All. It was also a relief that she wasn't picked on by other Amethysts for being a runt, which I image would be a big boost in rekindling her lost self-confidence. Finally, Garnet is the mom-type that I aspire to be when I get around to having kids.
