RIP Aron Eisenberg (AKA "Nog")

A couple of days ago now but no one has posted about it. From "a sudden medical emergency." He had a kidney transplant a few years ago so it's probably something related to that.

I saw the news last night.

Nog was one of my favorite characters ever, on my favorite Star Trek show.

He was born with only one kidney, which didn't function properly, so he's had multiple transplants throughout his life. Stunted his growth, too.

Damn cool guy. I just found out that he and Cirroc Lofton had a podcast together... gonna have to give it a listen!

Wikipedia says he had a kidney transplant at age 17 and died at age 50, he had a second kidney transplant at age 46. The guy had a history of kidney problems from a young age, it's still sad to see someone die before 70 but it's not really that shocking in this case.

I had a friend, who had kidney problems all her life. She died at 23 from her kidney problems I think in 2006? Some times your just curse with bad luck like that maybe? Yeah I miss her.

I saw this news Saturday, but not the cause. So sad. Having a mate with kidney issues, I can relate to what his family must be going through. I worry about this happening all the time. Nog was one of my favorite characters on DS9, and we watch it almost nightly on a Trek marathon schedule on tv. Blessed be to his family, and may he rest easy now that he is beyond pain.
