I actually prefer the concept sketch where everybody is posing all cool.

The cover that the artist went with is okay but the part with Shredder in the corner is weird. I get what the artist was going for but that little section doesn't work.

I agree with Oldmanwinters. The concept cover sketch is better even if it lacks any sort of action.

Looks interesting. Curious if this will sell and if there will be more later. Does anyone remember how long it took Archie to release more issues after the first few were a success?

Hate to admit it, but I just NOW realized that cover is intentionally aping the climatic intro scene of the original toon intro where the four turtles are leaping to intercept the Technodrome, except this time April is leading the charge. I guess that's why it makes a little sense to shove Shredder and the Drome into the corner. It would have worked better as a double-sided wrap-around cover, I think, even if the image had to be flipped to accommodate the binding process.

The Epic Begins 3 part adaptation of the first five episodes were published in July, August, and September 1988 and the 77 issue series began in December of 1988. So Three months.

I like it. It reminds me of Ken Mitchroney's art style which was my favorite on the Archie series.

Read it. Not bad writing, but the story is largely a tribute to 80s video games, no 'real' battle with the rogues gallery, and basically an excuse for easter eggs and cameos, and you get all that from Shredder's Revenge at the moment anyway so what little point is there in reading about it when you can play it?

Edit: the official idw account seems to have removed the post, but the art is still out there through other accounts.
