Mirage lost media
I had a thought earlier about something that amounts to some TMNT lost media, even if it is kind of minor. In 1992 Mirage started publishing a stand-alone Casey Jones story North by Downeast, seen in the Plastron Café omnibus title. It was meant to be told in six parts but Plastron Café only lasted four issues so the story was left unfinished for the time being. The full story was seen later in the 1994 two-part Casey Jones series, this time colorized. Black and white prints of parts 5 and 6 have never been seen by the public and possibly never will now that Mirage has folded. To my knowledge, the prints in question weren't among the materials auctioned off before hand.

It would be an interesting question to ask Rick Veitch. If he does have them considering that he hasn't worked out a deal to reprint his TMNT work with IDW I'm guessing he has no desire to share them.
As an aside can I just say how bizarre it is that a Casey Jones series has him fighting lobster people. I know that Kevin Eastman used to cook them as a job and he likes to inject a lot of himself in his stories but a character whose appeal is being a down to earth street level vigilante fighting alien lobsters is way out there. |

Strange. I would have thought since he never signed Mirage's retroactive work for hire contract he would definitely have had them. Maybe Kevin Eastman has them?

Well, back then you'd just mail in your art. So he just plain wouldn't have it.

Nickelodeon are the ones who acquired all the various TMNT assets Mirage had when they bought the TMNT. And my understanding is that the comic book archives were pretty far from complete. As you can tell from the various IDW reprints that are just scans of the comic books.
