Forget what I said about Usagi, losing this is no sin, this should not exist...

Person to Playmates. " How about you guys make Mona Lisa Sal Commander Wyrm Screwloose Wingnut Alopex and Shinagmi figures."
Playmates toys " Lets repaint Series 1 and Series 2 figures in really crappy colors and watch as our "loyal fans" buy them cause they will buy anything"

Monster are finally an interesting version of the turtles. They are not doing Chris Fradford or the Noodle Restaurant guy? Too bad, but at least the monster variants are funny and well done. They are also doing treanchcoat Leonardo and some throwback R&B version? Well, not for me, what that is fine too. But finally, despite beeing super happy because Alopex is making it to the cartoon along with Usagi, they are not releasing Apolex figure because she is a girl and they are doing THAT THING with Usagi. I'm sorry I you don't agree, you have your right not to, but that Usagi is unacceptably aweful for me.

I am excited for all the new basics seen...even repaints. They're all fun in their own way and if the paint disappears at least they look like there's plenty of sculpted detail underneath. Fun is why I collect toys!
More new characters would be nice too...I think this lineup has some potential to keep things going longer so maybe down the road... But could it be the apparent "gold wave 1 series" is meant to be a bookend to the line??? |

The info about the upcoming arcs is interesting. Crimson Leader Tigerclaw has my interest.

Hardly any exciting reveals this time around.
SHF Shredder looks good, but out of my price range. I see no point to Minimates, so I won't be getting any. More typical Playmates stuff: idiotic repaints with hardly any new sculpts. I'll only be getting the Usagi stuff; any of his varients and other characters from his world. I feel gross giving away my hard-earned money to Playmates of all companies, but I'm pretty hard-pressed for Usagi figs in my collection, and even though these won't be very good at all, I'm out of options. Believe me, if I could give money to any other company for some Usagi figs I would. Imagine NECA Usagi? What a dream come true that would be! |

Randy from NECA has dropped two pretty huge hints about what the SDCC exclusive will be this year.
First: https://twitter.com/NECA_TOYS/status/832920100672045056 And now from Pixel Dan's interview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jii7qUhQfWk&t=10m0s A 30-year turtle anniversary is of course the debut of the cartoon, so I feel pretty confident that there will be a release similar to last year's arcade turtles in cartoon form. I predict they are better than the Figuarts. If there's a villains four-pack, I bet instead of three foot soldiers it's one foot soldier or Krang plus bebop and rocksteady. |

Ha, and I literally just got the game versions. I guess we'll see how different they are, but if it's just colouration I'm happy enough with these.
I've not been following the PLaymates stuff at all. I have Slash and Mondo, and I might get Armaggon. But of the announcement, maybe Usagi will be nice? The only one I personally want to see before the line ends is Alopex. I've been waiting thirty years for a mutant ninja fox figure...

A villains pack with Shredder, Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady would be awesome though! Found some good pictures of several of the upcoming vehicles by Playmates: Also had not seen these 'Pet to Turtle' Half-Shell Heroes figures yet: |

The Mirco Mutant Sweeper looks really fun, and the HSH Pet-to-Ninja are adorable.
Edit: heh, I see a hilarious goof: Samurai Mikey's kama got holes in the blades. Last edited by Candy Kappa; 02-19-2017 at 06:49 AM. |
