I don't see them making her a romantic interest for anybody unless Johnny somehow completely futzes things with both Miguel's mom AND Ali. It'd be kind of cool if in the time between The Next Karate Kid and now, Swank's character kind of struck it rich, or became well-off? And maybe becomes like the corporate head honcho of Miyagi-Do?

Liking the trailer, obviously we could see a team up coming with Johnny and Daniel, they had a few good moments previously until misunderstandings came along and set them back again. It should be good however long it lasts.

I remember when this thread first started I was light heartedly thinking 'this might be bad but I gotta see what they do' one of my sisters pretty much said the same thing when I was talking to her about it. Anyway, I was very wrong about it being bad. Lot of good character focus.

BTW: seeing a few rumors that the blond woman we see in the trailer (we only see her back and back of her head) that Daniel's wife is reacting to is Ali. Soon we'll see if that's true.

So this is correct! She's in the last couple of episodes. The Okinawa stuff appears to be only 1.5 episodes, as suggested earlier. No Terry Silver appearances in the PRESENT... but he is seen being rescued by Kreese in Vietnam in the past AND it seems like Kreese calls him on the phone at the end of the season, presumably to call in a favor. Looks like no Stingray, thankfully, but I can't be sure. The way it touches them and moves on from them I doubt we'll ever see Ali or Kumiko again... really all we're left to see in the final seasons 4-6 as "Whoa!" kind of stuff are Terry Silver, Mike Barnes, and Julie Pierce (Swank's character). I guess Michael Ironside could come back to play Dugan from KK4 if he maintains some kind of grudge against Miyagi's legacy, I guess.

One big bad thing about season 3, at least to me. In season 1 and 2 they recaptured a lot of the musical themes from the KK movies (which really sold the feels)... yet in season 3 it seems like they decided to stop paying money for that, so now the nostalgic bits just have boring stock music to accompany them. Lame!!!

That sucks. Conti’s scores are some of my all time favorites. Blending them into Cobra Kai is one of the best parts of the show.

Hopefully they get a bigger budget from Netflix going forward so they don’t cut costs like this.

That brings up a good point. Season 3 was completed for YouTube before the pandemic, with whatever budget Youtube gave them. So we actually won't see what a Netflix-budgeted Cobra Kai show looks (and sounds) like until season 4.
