I don't really see what the issue is. I haven't stepped foot in a library since grade school, either. I'm a working adult, if I want a book, I buy it.

I'm a collector. I like to audition a book series for free, and then go back and buy them if they're good enough to warrant a reread in 2 years. Get a feel for how much shelf space I might need to free up...

I didn't. However, libraries-- at least the ones in my area--are doing everything they can to be hip and trendy, to bring in younger patrons. Manga and comic rooms, internet access, games, clubs, etc. So it's not just books.

But even with all that, you can't compete with Amazon or Xbox.

Libraries are awesome if you have a good one nearby, I've been to some ****** ones, it's a shame they're dying. I prefer to borrow books than to buy, I mean most books you read you aren't going to be re-reading anytime soon. My personal library is rather small but full of stuff I'll actually pick up to read.

Sadly I don't have a good library for fiction, so I usually "borrow" those online But for non-fiction I have a great library nearby and I love just going around and picking up books to read. I'm going to miss it when I move.
