Time to change the banner and avatars for Christmas.

This site is a home away from home me for a lot of us so let us decorate it for Christmas. Can we actually change out the banner to the holiday one this year? Let's see the Santa hats in the avatars, too. I will be changing mine in a bit. Merry Christmas everyone.

I don't want a Santa Hat, I am the forum Scrooge and/or Grinch.

Unfortunately, I can't find an image of TigerClaw with a Santa Hat.

It's not too hard to add them through Photoshop or some basic art program.

I don't have any photo editing skills.

Ok, I found a site where you can add a Santa Hat to an exciting photo, However the image will have watermarks all over unless you purchase it, So here's my attempt.

The only thing worse than having a special Christmas banner for a website is having that still be the banner in April. Which it what would happen if we got a Christmas banner.

Lol, this place can be pretty white trash at times. I say let's go for it.

To be even more a curmudgeon, frankly, I like that this site is one of the few places I can go to escape all the normie trend BS. No holiday flair, memes, hash-tags, relatively light on politics/celebrity news, it's a bit of a nerd shelter. Just turtle talk on a grey back-drop. Old-school. If it ain't broke...

So I say if you (as individuals) wanna do Christmas, you do Christmas! Enjoy it. Those of us who don't, can continue to be joyless voids, just the way we like it.

I do love how no-frills this site is. Hell, I even have everyone's signatures turned off. It's freaking beautiful in its simplicity.

It really is refreshing compared to the rest of the commercial web. Its basic layout is aesthetically pleasing, easy to use, & it runs smoothly. I can't say that for sites like Facebook, for example.

Ugh, too true. I can't think of a single other website that has stuck to its original layout and held true to the principle of "if it ain't broke".

The 'Drome's layout is keeping it simple, stupid. Other forums (mostly anything powered by Invision) have a dozen plugins for Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Spotify, you name it. And those little notification jingles and whatnot personally bother me more than anything. It's easy to poke fun at what a dinosaur this website is, but if it's layout were really that bad and ancient then we wouldn't have anywhere near as strong a userbase as we do.

The drome is the only forum I browse for a reason. The layout is the definition of comfy. I do wish that we got more regulars, but that's no one can fix that.

Yeah, keep it clean and simple. So much easier on the eyes. I only wish there was an option to freeze gif signatures rather than hide all since I otherwise like some of the signatures you guys have. (Not that I don't like some of the gifs, it's just that the amount of movement is a bit hard on the eyes when there is an army of them, esp big ones, close together in a thread.)

Yes, I used PD Leo; was him on my profile already so I stuck with him and switched it with one of my fave legit cute shots of him, and if I do say so myself, is now too stinkin' cute with the addition of a Santa hat. (And if that sounded a tiny bit fangirly, oh well... Merry Christmas. lol)

Good grief you heathens. Lighten up. All I was talking about was changing the banner which used to be a tradition. Sorry for actually enjoying the Christmas season. You guys really do know how to suck the fun out of life sometimes. I do not need a rant from you Powder in return, please. Mods, please take note of the aforementioned request.

Isn't the drome christmas banner the same one with just a few badly photoshopped ornaments?

I hope it gets updated I love it and all these negative replies are making me want to switch to a X-Mas inspired avatar.

People who don't celebrate Christmas are heathens? That's not very merry.

I think myself & others interpreted this one part of your post-

-as a suggestion of Krang putting Santa hats on everyone's avatars, which is why you're seeing people say "nah". I for one have no problem with people opting to do it themselves, nor am I against the banner change. Simple misunderstanding. The fun is only sucked out if you let it be. Have some turtle egg nog & relax, no one here wants to spoil your spirit.
