He has a most extensive filmograohy than I would have thought knowning for him only Home Alone. It made him a,name nonetheless.
The article said he had minor back surgery and was recuperating in a hotel. It makes a person wonder what went wrong in surgery to cause his passing.

Bet there's gonna be a lot of tweets from fans and fellow costars, especially from the Home Alone cast. Seen John Heard in tons of things, Cat People, Deceived, every version of Law & Order, CSi, O, Runner Runner, etc... Sure had a lot of talent and he will be missed, enjoy heaven John Heard.

Thanks again,John. I appreciate the visit every black Friday since I was a small child and will see you again then. I also look forward to seeing where he might pop up from seeing his filmography.

I only knew him from Home Alone, but I did enjoy that film and thought he did a good job as the father. He will definitely be missed.
