Crystal Lake TV show (Friday the 13th prequel)

And yes, they have the rights to use whatever they want from all of the movies.

We've now had an entire generation go by without a new Jason movie. Do people even still give a sh*t?

Also, how many people have EVER cared about what Pamela was up to before her killing spree? Like, until Jason "died" the camp was seemingly a normal place; are they gonna retcon it to be some kind of wacky and sinister place with people always dying and weird sh*t happening? They kinda have to if they want a show that isn't boring as hell, but I tell ya, they don't have a whole helluva lot to work with.

Maybe Pamela used to own a cursed antique shop that sells cursed items?

Given what Fuller says in the article, it's not quite a prequel (it seems the press jumped the gun on that) and it spans over various existing Jason eras and "incarnations."

It could be interesting. I'm just having trouble imagining how this is supposed to go. Anthology series? People telling stories around the campfire about Jason and his mom?

This probably owes its happening to the massive success of the Chucky TV show. And while that has some neat flashbacks to Charles Lee Ray when he was alive its hardly about that.

I don't know, Crazy Ralph wasn't all worked up about "death curse" over nothing.

****, just give us a Crazy Ralph origin story.

Honestly, I'm sure they'll do **** like satanic cults and long dead witches from 1692.

That's a decent point. What was he so worked up over?

I think that might be asking too much of a franchise like this one.

True story. I made my feelings pretty bluntly clear in my NECA Freddy review (which you should watch if you haven't already ).

It's not a good movie on any level (and you can take a boat from a lake... to New York?). Except the punching off the head part.

All the Jason movies are entertaining dreck at best. "Jason Takes Manhattan" just happens to be The King of Sh*t Mountain.

Not my fault, I just Observe & Report.

Yeah, after watching through the entire series recently, Friday the 13th isn't really that great of a series. None of the films immediately stand out as good the way something like A Nightmare on Elm Street or Child's Play does, with the exception of the 2009 reboot which was a solid revitalization that combined elements of the first 4 films (which were quite frankly boring and outdated), into something much more cohesive and watchable. Meanwhile, 8-10 were just disastrous films, leaving 5-7 to battle it out over which one sucked the least.

Jason is like the Sonic the Hedgehog of slasher films. We're all rooting for him because he was an icon at one point in time, but he's never really ever been that good despite the thrills he's offered us over the years.

Pretty much 2, 3, 4, 6, and 7 are the highlights of the whole series. Though man, 7 didn't age very good at all when I saw it again a couple of years ago. 9 wasn't good. X was much better than it had any right to be. The "remake" was solid, as well. FvJ is poetry, to me. A clash of gods with a decent budget.

Harsh, but very fair!

My local horror festival is screening III in actual 3D next month, I'm legit excited for this. I have a massive soft spot for III, can't wait to watch it as intended with other fans!

I love 5-7.

As a young man I always apricated the big ole' tiddies in V and love the "Damn Enchiladas" line. Mad props to the Candy bar kid getting axed. A lot of fun to be had.

VI was my introduction to F13. So it hold a very nostalgic place for me.

VII is for me maybe the weakest of the 3, but I still enjoy it.
