Man, I loved the game but the ending is truly horrible. It's like the ending to some random, bad episode of "The Real Ghosbusters" cartoon.
The climax with fighting the Architect and all that was cool, but really... end it with just Venkman getting slimed by Slimer, cue credits? Really? |

Venkman getting half a kiss and slimed by Slimer, then cut to credits is just lame. I wasn't expecting any kind of an epilogue, but something more than this. |

Got it for 360 last Friday, I'm loving it. Beat it on Casual in a day to get a feel for it, thoroughly annoying my fiancee who thinks short games are a ripoff, then replayed a few missions for fun, took a couple days off for work, then beat it on Professional last night. It feels just like it should, I think it's the best game based on a movie ever, but it's not like I've played every single one of them so eh.
It could have been longer, but if it was 40 hours I'd still want more, so I try not to cry about such things. Especially games I know I'll be replaying forever like this one. Still need a couple single-player Achievments, like both the money/damage ones and I think the Stasis Trap one, since on Pro I was too busy helping my partners up every 5 seconds while trying not to get KO'ed to care. Like all games, I'll likely never get the Live Achievements, but I can live with it. Multiplayer sounds fun, though. Did anybody else play Ghostbusters for Atari back in the day? Did anyone else think that the first part of the new game, specifically the Times Square level, felt almost like an homage to the structure of that game? Especially climbing up the building to fight Stay-Puft, and the ghost trap on top of Ecto-1. I confess hoping Vigo would have had more prescence, but he's pretty funny. "Pull my finger! I command you!" If I get a Wii anytime soon I'll definitely get the Wii version of the game, since my list of Wii games to buy is only like 10 games as it is.

^^ Most definately... It's almost entirely a continuation of the plot of the first movie. There are a few insignificant references to the second (the most significant being the new equipment, Slime Blower v.2), but nothing that requires putting the sequel under the microscope to follow. The more awkward dialogue in the PS3/PC/X-Box 360 version are more understandable after locating the corresponding lines from the Wii/PS2 version...

I guess you would, considering you're lack of experience with GB, since you're only playing lameass Dynasty Warriors. |

Sarcasm noted. Everyone thinks too hard about everything, everyone reads to much into everything, we get it.

I guess it could've... but it'd be a bit strange. I'm pretty sure GB3 will be set today, in our present day with all the cast, now much older... and this video game is tethered to the year 1991.
It'd be like, "Here's a lead-in to the next movie... which takes place twenty years after the events of this game!" |

This game started production well before the third movie was confirmed, so it'll be interesting how they tie this in with the third movie. The game is considered canon as far as I've heard. I think it'd be cool if they mentioned the "recruit" who now heads up the LA Branch of Ghostbusters or whatever district. I can see the third movie being more like Dan Aykroyd's original script of having teams of Ghostbusters all over the nation. Could be cool
