It just has to shake out that way. It's right there in the name: Earth Protection Force, and Earth will be under attack... There's no other faction that could constitute an "unspeakable alliance", I mean, The Turtles are practically honorary Mutanimals, Stockman and the Foot are ultimately on their side, Karai would surely be amenable to helping out, Leatherhead is already an uneasy ally, Null would probably be on board as well...
Unless it refers to the Pantheon, which would be just as trippy, then the EPF is a sure thing. |

Am I the only one who doesn't want to see the TMNT and EPF play nice yet? Bishop is waaay too ruthless to be trusted, I feel

So is the #16-17 Universe arc titled "Freedom" or "From the Heart, for the Heard"? The solicits for those issues seem to be at a disagreement.

Whatever happens will be very tense, and should be a lot of fun. Especially if the Mutanimals are also brought in to help. |

Also, there should be two issues of Batman/TMNT II released in December, yes?

So IDW is finally doing the Triceraton invasion story like in past series. I've been waiting for this for a while. Sounds to me like a smaller-scale version of the one in the 2k3 series Season 3. Especially if Bishop is involved.
We also had the Triceraton invasion in Season 3 of the Nick finale, or when they came to Earth in the original cartoon, or the Triceratons from Volume 2 who followed the beacon to Darpa, or the ones in the Image series who transported to the museum. This feels like one of those, "it has to be done" TMNT stories that every series does their own version of. |

Except, as Spengs just pointed out on his 4Kids review, Mirage never did this!

Vol. 2 seemed like it was setting up to do this before the volume came to a hasty conclusion due to the flood in Mirage and them canceling it. The two Triceratons found the beacon leading them to Darpa, had the series continued I'm willing to bet they either would have survived or more Triceratons would have arrived on Earth following.

Why would the EPF form an alliance with invaders, that as far as they're concerned for the moment, are aliens that just happen to resemble prehistoric animals?

So the Batman/Ninja Turtles II is a six issue bi-weekly? I had assumed a monthly.

No, I think I read in the initial press release that two issues would come out in December but then the rest of the series would proceed monthly. Freddie Williams II has probably been working on the crossover for a while already.

The unspeakable alliance is rather obvious. We know that Agent Bishop is going to appear in #76 and we know he is involved in countering invasions. Its too soon for an uneasy alliance? Yes, I agree, but we do not know the narrative yet. The set up calls for it in the very least. If anything I hope Slash can break free of the EPF control.
It would be nice to find out if the clone Bishop killed the original or what exactly is going on with him. However, I just ask Slash to break free. In the 2003 cartoon we had to wait 16 months to learn Agent Bishop's origin in a preview scene.
