The slow-motion 360 zoom shot of Leo cutting Shredder's head off would be GLORIOUS.
Jokes aside, I'm pretty sure he's done with comic book movies unless there's a big paycheck in it, though. He seems pretty fed up with working super-hard on these things and getting ripped to shreds by f*cking nerds. Seriously, practically nobody puts more blood, sweat and tears into making movies than this guy does, and that isn't even a matter of opinion. He works SUPER hard on his movies and gets called a "hack" by a bunch of keyboard warriors because "OMG he takes this stuff too seriously!" and "He uses his preferred visual cues too much!" That's like complaining about hearing a guitar riff in Pythagorean Scale on an Offspring record. You knew what you were in for when you paid for admission. Bitching just to Bitch doesn't make you "smart" or "ahead of the curve", it just makes you a pissbaby. I wasn't around when this thread happened, but it makes me laugh. Nobody in Real Life has anything to say about 300 besides, "That was Awesome." Most people like his movies a lot, and they appreciate that his style of filmmaking is unique. It's just the bitter, jaded nerds who spend 99% of their time posting rants on message boards about how a movie "ruined their childhood" or whatever nonsense that whine about his stuff. Those aren't "real people", they're f*cking nerds. Nobody should give a sh*t what a bunch of people whose most "creative" works get flushed down the toilet after breakfast have to say about a single goddamn thing, movies or otherwise. Those people ain't doin' sh*t, and they're going nowhere. They piss and moan because they wish they were in a position to do what he does, but they're not. "Those who Can't, cry on message boards." They're like wrestling fans, but more insufferable. At least wrestlers are real people; comic book geeks get bent outta shape over fictional characters! I don't blame him for being fed up with the comic book genre and its fans. To work super-hard on making movies - which is a really hard thing to do - and then get called names by a bunch of Cheetos-smelling, basement-dwelling dorks who can't even use spellcheck and haven't seen the sun in 66 days has to be SUPER annoying. I'd have a beer with him. George Lucas, too (although I don't actually think Lucas is much of a "filmmaker"; more of an "Ideas Guy"). But the one thing they both have in common is that they're both apparently sick of having a bunch of fat shut-ins tear their work to shreds when they can just do other things instead. Can't say I blame either of 'em!

And yet, still light years ahead of anything Seth Rogen is gonna give us.
"Hooray! Pothead Mikey and even MORE dick jokes!" Awesome. Future looks bright!

Same 100%. TMNT could do a helluva lot worse.

Thanks, but no thanks.
Mature and gritty Turtles are probably OK with me, but not from Snyder who will turn the whole thing into superserious edgy nonsense with slo-mo and ****** palette. Quote:

So Steppenwolf in ZSJL might be heavily inspired from Shredder after all...
Zack Snyder & TMNT collab one day? |

A Zack Snyder TMNT would be a godsend for the franchise. No, he's not one of my favorite directors, but think about what we'll probably get instead.

Zack Snyder is the Eastman, not the Laird.
Both are needed to have a successful tmnt film. |

That's actually pretty fair.
I'm not remotely worried about that kind of stuff (again, Rogen's "Preacher" or "The Boys") but anytime a TMNT writer has always led with something like -- in interviews -- "You know I've, I've always wished a TMNT project would finally focus on the 'teenager in TMNT!" the hairs on my neck always stand up. Because that's stupid, for reasons that should probably be obvious to anyone thinking about the TMNT for longer than a couple of seconds.

Why does it have to be Zack Snyder? Imagine if James Gunn directed a TMNT movie.

But none of that matters because this isn't a thread about who would make a good director, it's about Snyder in particular. |

Not a fan of his DC work but I'd oddly trust him with a Mirage inspired TMNT. |

If he could be forbidden from writing the jokes, sure. I like his style, just not his sense of humor.

I wouldn't want any one of those people unless they both "understand" and at least have a measurable passion for the TMNT.

I dont know if he likes tmnt, but Travis Knight seems like he could be a decent choice.
bumblebee was a signficant step up from Bay's Transformers imo. He has a background in animation which could help in fight scenes. |
