Yeah, really "hard" to follow on a song with lyrics like "They're heroes in a half shell and they're green".

I like the lyrics.

The music is catchy but its not as catchy as the original theme.

I actually like the Japanese dub themes for the 2003 series - seems to fit well with it.

Reminds me of naruto...

My favorite ending theme:

I enjoy it nostalgically. I was watching A LOT of FoxBox starting like summer 2002, even though I hated pretty much everything they aired. Anything to get a glimpse of the upcoming show.

One day I sat through Ultimate Muscle or Fighting Foodons or some other miserable sh*t and was rewarded with the full premiere of the theme song. I marked the **** out and I've loved it ever since. Even if, objectively, I find it to be kind of grating and full of silly lyrics.

I find myself humming the '87 and 2003 theme a lot.
The 87's theme song will always be my favorite in terms of how enjoyably catchy it is.
And I do like the 2003 one better than the Nick one with it's rap song.

signature music

I created a similair thread, "Favourite TMNT signature music?", where you can vote for your favourite. I also prefer the 2003-2009 signature music (for seasons 1-5).

Maybe not the lyrics, but just the overall sound of it. It's a classic epic theme song and has an unforgettable sound to it alongside other immortal cartoon theme songs like Thundercats and Transformers. It makes the 'One! Two! Three! Four! Garbage sound like a song that might be cool and edgy at the time, but lame and outdated a year or so later.

Hell yeah, the FW series theme is legendary and one of the best cartoon openings ever. As for the 4Kids series opening... it's OK. Yes the Turtles count it off part and the "never fight unless someone else staaaaarts!" part seems kinda childish and corny. I mean, let's keep in mind that this series was meant to be more action packed and closer to the source material than the FW series... yet the FW series' theme song makes the cartoon sound like a pretty badass action cartoon. In fact, many of the older TMNT fans who only like the FW series and first two movies tend to remember the show being action packed for some odd reason. It's like they only remember the earlier episodes and the video games based on the series, which naturally had lots of action and fighting. They seem to forget that most fights in the FW series involved slapstick and such.

Exactly. That legendary intro always looks like the tmnt are about to kick all sorts of ass...... and then the cartoon starts.

After a while the clash between the intro and the show got more and more noticeable, I guess that's why CBS went with a new and slightly wackier intro graphic.

I don't like how they kept the "when the evil Shredder attacks" line in the Red Sky intro. That fit season 8, but keeping that in season 9 with clips from season 8 and the first movie(like really, it was 4-5 years old at that point) just felt off.

The whole cartoon/movie clip show intro looked like a mess. As silly as the first movie was, the turtles never got into that sort of martial arts fighting even during Red Sky. Mostly cartoon laser guns and Raph tossing his sai at everything.

They went full sci fi in Red Sky, especially in the last two seasons. TMNT always had sci-fi elements to it but let's not forget the word "Ninja" is in the title. Seasons 9 and 10 no longer felt like a Ninja Turtles cartoon per se but some spin-off starring the Turtles.

The Transformers theme song isn't that good either to be honest. Seasons two and three had better renditions but season one was crap. I swear, I can hear the sound of something falling on the floor having been left in. Just listen, it happens when it's zooming in on the Decepticon logo:

I like the openings for this show good enough and never really understood what made them so bad to other people

I will agree with this, though.

LMAO THESE TWO LINES MAKE ME LAUGH EVERY TIME I HEAR THEM. I love the song the [former] line comes from but god damn. I can't sing along because I laugh.

I've seen it more than a handful of times on this forum but those are easily forgettable. The main place I see this opinion is when I'm trying to show this series to other adults.

Clearly you're not the only one but I could not stand it, mostly because of the hard core extreme electric guitar and the incessant counting.

Remember the other songs in the series? "It's A Jungle Out There" and "Midnight Run"? OMG season 2 was so random.

Hard core extreme guitar.... lmao

I liked the other songs in the series more than the opening actually. Especially It's a jungle out there.

Not counting the stuff from Fast Forward onward, of course

Music is the one thing that 2k3 lacks in, I did grow to like some of the theme songs but they're still weak in comparison.

The BGM played during the actual episodes are good. Loved the Foot Soldier theme and a lot of the other action themes they played during the fighting.

2003–2009

The 2003–2009 signature song is the best, but I like all signature songs, including Next Mutation, except the 2012 one. The 2012 one feels like a forced way to recreate the original.

I didn't like the 2012 one either. The beginning of it sounds great, but the rest of it is awful.
