*yawn*

The first film was a borefest outside the monster fights, and even those weren't that good either. One of the most overrated films in recent memory.

I still haven't seen the first one, but if CC hates it, it's almost definitely good.

And yeah I'll throw my vote out there for Hellboy 3 as well. I heard some scuttlebutt recently but you know how people talk.

Just youtube the monster fights. You'll see everything Pacific Rim has to offer in about 15 minutes.

There is no story. Just some little Japanese girl who was traumatized by monsters destroying a city all around her, and when she became an adult she became some karate master and joined the force. She's befriended by a white guy and a black guy and they're the heroes of the movie.

Sounds spiffy. Actually sounds kind of similar to some of the latter-day Godzilla movies. AND there's Voltron-esque battle zords, too? How'd I miss this one?

I'm sure I can get it at Target for a sawbuck. Thanks, buddy.

I'm more excited about GDT expanding this universe through the animated series. I was pretty underwhelmed by the movie.

And after you finish the movie you'll say, "Eh it was alright, but the monster fights were the only decent thing about it and I could have just seen that on youtube."

Its also the type of movie you'll only ever want to watch once and never again.

I don't get bored as easily as you seem to, I think I'll be alright.

Besides, as crummy as my internet connection is, it'd take an hour to watch a 5-minute youtube clip, anyway, and at that point I might as well go whole-hog. I seen the DVD for cheap, it's a low-risk investment.

My only objection has ever been with the title. "Pacific Rim" sounds like something you pay extra for at an Asian massage parlor. "Robots Punching Monsters", maybe? I'unno.

I'm OK with this. The first one was like a B movie with an A class budget. View that as you may.

Cool I enjoyed the movie then again I love those old Showa and Heisei era Godzilla movies and stuff like Voltron and Ultraman to really enjoy this movie you have to kind of "get" those shows to "get" the movie. So I can see why the movie is an an acquired taste for some and isn't for everyone. Sure I would much prefer a Hellboy 3 but what can you do.

Really excited for the cartoon I'm getting sick of Legend of Korra being the only action cartoon on tv.

Oh heck yeah. So pumped for the series and the sequel movie which is kind of funny as I was originally unsure about seeing the first film at the cinema until biting the bullet and checking it out. Glad I did.

I'm still skeptical this movie happens. I mean, I hope it does but I'll kind of believe it when I'm sitting in the theater.

You beat me to it.

First movie was a'ight; John Boyega is an excellent casting choice.
