Fusco Draft For New Movie is "Not good..." According to Paramount

Correction "Not great..."

The Wrap is reporting on Paramount's slate, in which the new movie (just entitled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for now) is listed. Paramount had this to say about the film:

Quote:
Fusco draft not great; Looking for a new writer to come on this quickly as it's a huge Viacom priority.
At least we know that they really want to make this film.

At least they're trying to make an effort.

By the way, does anybody know about THIS in the comments of the article?

Maybe good, maybe bad. I guess they saw that the writer sucked and want a new one. Its probably a good thing for the movie, in the end.

I wouldn't count on it. The more people who touch a script, the worse it tends to get. It loses cohesion. And I wouldn't call Fusco a bad writer necessarily.

what he/she said, by not good Paramount might mean it has too much action and grit and not enough pizza jokes and slap stick.

I see this as a good thing. I would really like them to get a writer/director, for a more coherent vision of the movie. Of course that depends on which writer/director

It's cheaper for them to just keep patching a loser script than to scrap it and start over. That's what I've always assumed anyway. That's why you watch a crap movie and see that it took 5 writers to come up with the crap.

meh, I sure hope so. It's just tradionally when the first draft of a script get rehauled or go through too many hands, it tends to dip in quality.

Just because someone says it wasn't good doesn't mean it really wasn't good it could have been the perfect TMNT movie for us or even Andrew! It doesn't really matter though, this isn't bad news if they didn't like it and are re-writing it then its good news, whats the big deal, when we know the shooting script is terrible then you can worry but even then a good director could come and make the script better than it was so its all relative. The movie is still like 2 years away so nothing to worry about yet or post "lol I knew it was going to suck".

Someone very close to the production of the movie, at least previously, said that the first draft of the script was the very best Turtles story he'd ever read. And he should know.

I'm much more inclined to take his word than a Paramount mouthpiece.

When was that ever in question?

Who said this? And did they say anymore?

Also, no info about that "ABC Miniseries"?
