Be prepared for the following: people bitching about how Nintendo games won't work on their Sony/Microsoft machines; people using the wrong console names; people pre-ordering and then not coming in to collect until two weeks after the game is out; people trying to make trade-ins or returns with the scummiest looking games and consoles possibly; people complaining how little you're going to give them for their "ultra rare" copy of Madden 2005; thieves; thieves trying to trade-in stolen items; parents leaving kids there as a nursery while they go shopping elsewhere for an hour or two; attitude from male customers because girls "don't know anything about videogames"; being forced to ask customers if they want a warranty with every purchase; and pre-orders, pre-orders, pre-orders!

Other that that, it's paradise!

(the thing is, I've seen all of that personally just from visiting copious US videogame stores on my travels!)

Hopefully that has not put you off... good luck

I think part of it depends on what kind of game store and where it's located, too. I talk to the guy that owns the local shop nearby and he absolutely loves it. It keeps him super busy but he gets lots of great customers.

Out at the backup location by myself....which means I don't have to stay until 7:00 and wait for the day shift to show up. Hooray!

Congrats on the new job, DTC. That's awesome. And thanks for the congrats, too.

What makes me happy: That Total Divas premieres tonight. Been waiting for that for months.

ENJOY! Those are the best days.
I'm gonna have to wait until the end of the month for a day off. *le sigh* But I'm seriously looking forward to it.

But I bought myself one of those sweet Spidergwen hoodies (Coolest hoodie even if she isn't my fav comic character) and fancy special edition Final Fantasy 7, 8, and 9 guides. That made me super happy today.

Thanks guys! What's nice about this place is there are no warranties to push, pre-orders are very few & far between. It's honestly pretty slow compared to places like GameStop. As far as being a "dumb girl" I already got that a lot selling video games, comics, etc at my flea market booth, so I'm used to it and have lovely retorts. What's funny too is that the POS was apparently written for idiots, because it's the only one I've ever seen where you count how many of each bill and coin you have vs. counting the numerical amount of the drawer's contents. This store shares the strip mall with a paint store, nail salon and a vape store... looks like a pretty minimal babysitting location. I get that though, when I worked at Petco we'd have parents drop off kids so they could watch the fish while they shopped elsewhere. I just LOVE unattended children... .... So far the most interesting thing is finding a PSOne disc stuck inside a NES console. Go figure!

My happy maker- having a short shift tonight, which means I get to spend more time with my hubby. He didn't have a treatment today, and is feeling pretty good, which is always nice. Also, the last item of my latest Amazon order has shipped! Expecting two IDW TMNT annuals, a BIG book on turtle veteranary care and medicine to be used as research, an Iron Maiden CD and DVD set of Bubblegum Crash for the hubby, and a new case for my phone. Hoping they arrive soon!

Game day! Just killed the kobold king, saved the missing children, and led an uprising of the kobold tribe which is now under new leadership- and "loosely" allied with the village. I aquired a magical crown that will come in very handy later.... So it's been a fun session so far!
