Do you still have your Christmas decorations up?
Went on a morning walk earlier and noticed people STILL have their decorations up, that includes the outdoor lights, the blowups etc. Who here hasn't taken them down yet?

I usually take them down between the 7th and the 10th. After that time still having them up starts getting weird.

I take mine down in time for my daughters birthday, just before New Year but I think I would take them down by New Years Eve anyway.
I can't remember but there was something about tradition being up 2 weeks before and down 2 weeks after, I think. I put mine up at the start of December. |

Nope. We usually take ours down the day after Christmas, but we usually put them up the day after Thanksgiving. This year, we took it down New Year's Eve. Also, we don't do much decorating. We don't do the whole lights on the outside of the house thing.

Nah, I usually take stuff down around the end of the first week of Jan. Was worn out from work stuff and dying for a break, but it was unseasonably warm (you're next door in MD, I'm sure you prob had those 60s too), so I didn't dare wait.
If anyone living on this property wants them down sooner they'll have to do it themselves, while I'm tied up with work, and I know that won't happen, so they don't dare complain how long it has to wait. Lights I can kinda understand, that takes enough motivation to remove and pack up and no fun to do if it's cold out. (And easy just to not turn them on anymore, though I've still seen a holdout or two.) Now the inflatables that can just be unplugged and dragged inside don't have much excuse. Unless it has rained frequently and someone hasn't caught a good day to do it yet... Who wants to fight with a big wet mass of fabric and bring that indoors. I think everyone around here got those put away now in the past week. Last edited by IndigoErth; 01-15-2023 at 12:35 PM. |

Yes! lol Should open up some nice potholes to spend tax dollars on.... or leave sitting for years.
As much as I'm foolishly starting to miss that thing called snow that used to exist around here, I was grateful for the good timing of those temps. |
